Libtards on Parade: Alcoholism, Corruption, Murder
genepires replied to Fairweather's topic in Spray
his claim was that middle class taxes went up while the definition of middle class is vague and varies, I think that income of excess of $200K/yr puts you well beyond the middle class for all of US except NYC and San Fran. I think $70K/yr is a bit beyond most people's def of middle class. -

maybe I am missing something but I did as you requested. for comparison I used a $71K AGI and the tax tables from the 1040 2008 taxes paid for single - about $14K taxes paid for married file jointly about $10.4K 2014 taxes paid for single $13.6K taxes paid for single $9.7K Looks to me like your taxes went down during our socialist muslim prez term! -

please offer something to support this. According to historical data, the fed tax rate is the same since 1987. Granted they assume you qualify for some tax credits (notes 2,6 and 8) but they over all affect to tax rate is not that high to say that taxes went up a lot. http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/taxfacts/displayafact.cfm?Docid=226 This chart is rather confusing so maybe I am in error. are you talking about property taxes or other medicare taxes under Obama term? -
this is a ridiculous view of teaching. maybe you should drop into a class room today and see what is going on. There may be a few bad examples you describe, but it def not the norm.

After work, home at 6pm, staying up until 1am, driving, lectures, library time, driving, reading, writing, and getting back up for work at 6am--like those of us in the private sector do. Like I did. Again, why do teachers think they are above the rest of us? It's truly an insulated world they have created for themselves. because those times you mentioned are times they are preparing for the next day and grading yesterdays homework.

teachers pension compensation equation (from plan3 document) http://www.drs.wa.gov/member/handbooks/trs/plan-3/t3hbk.pdf 1% x service credit years x average final compensation = monthly benefit years of credit in a linear factor final comp may be the geometric part you speak of. http://www.k12.wa.us/safs/PUB/PER/SalAllocSchedule.pdf so with a masters and 16 years of teaching, they top out at $57K. so with that equation above, the monthly pension should be $950/month. I work at boeing and we just lost our pension. it was very linear in that it was based on years of work times a fixed dollar amount and no current income factor.

Actually, the summers are a time that teachers use to get those extra credits and higher degrees that are needed to make living wage. So if they were to work all year, when would they be able to do the state required professional development? (which they are not paid to do) sneak it in during the recess periods?
-
http://www.k12.wa.us/safs/PUB/PER/SalAllocSchedule.pdf not quite $70K but the max is $64K after 16 years of teaching and a masters with 90+ extra credits or 16 years and a PhD. Is $100K reasonable for someone with a PhD with 16 years of prior experience in the private world? your kids school may not be the norm in regards to those half days for work. My kids school gets one hour every friday early release. those benefits are getting picked at too. there is a long list of contract take aways. you can't equate their pay to a full 12 months and then use the summer vacation as a argument point in the same paragraph. compare apples to apples. Though you did forget to add in the paid government holidays, spring and winter break into your free time calc.

that is a solid deal. if I didn't have as much gear as a climbing shop, I would jump on this. should sell quick

I like how certain folks argue with a history teacher about civics and union issues. what qualifications does one have to argue with someone who is infinitely more knowledgable about these things? Only one thing......an inflated head. Certain folks would do much better to not believe they know everything and instead honestly listen to what others say. But listening (without the sole purpose of knee jerk reaction of already determined beliefs) is a skill in short supply in Spray. Plenty of smarts but little listening skillz. Good for you Ivan with your union stewardship. It is appreciated by parents who value their kids education and people who value a educated society.

technically not a count-down clock but a count-up clock -
like others have said, don't scorn the 3 season tent idea. the key is to finding a 3 season tent with LOTS of guy points. That is one of the usual differences between the tents classifications but it is not a rule. I had a three season tent that went though hell and back in all manner of trips. Damn thing had 11 guy points on a small 2 person tent and those don't include the low worth bottom of fly guy points. High and lots of guy points will make any 3 season tent worthy. buy used as long as it is not stinky. What DPS is true too.

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/07/10/republican-abstinence-only-crusaders-17-year-old-daughter-is-pregnant/ You reap what you sow. And someone was doing some sow-ing instead of listening to her fathers advice. -
fortunate that the heli was able to get close to the site. unfortunate that most pilots get practice at these sites so often. They prolly have good spots laid out for all the usual suspects like climbing areas, mtn bike parks, and skate parks.

[quote=Fairweather http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=125997180 "It turns out that nearly half of all Americans don't have to pay any federal income tax. In 2009, 47 percent of all filers paid nothing. It's a number that's gone up significantly in just a couple of years." Once again the devil is in the details. Those numbers are based on a 2009 tax returns. Lots of unempoyment then. Lots of tax incentives that may not be around today. It may not be relevant currently but those things are casually left out when trying to make a arguement " In 2008, President Bush's stimulus payments sent $600 to individuals, $1,200 to couples, plus a little bit more if you had kids, and that all showed up as a tax reduction when you filed your income taxes. This year we have the 2009 stimulus, which includes making work pay. Almost every American who works got benefit from that and a few other things that bring down tax bills. " Now to see if those programs are still around....... -

[quote=FairweatherThe bottom 40-something percent pay no effective federal tax. How much more "fair" should it be? Transportation taxes? We should start with bicycles. a $15/hr minimum wage would fix that tax problem real quick. (waiting for the baseless arguements of how the jobs will leave when the min wage is raised) as someone who commutes in my car daily, I don't want to discourage bicyclists from riding for their commute. Taxing them is stupid. -

because these are so Socialist: fixing infrastructure ending gender pay disrimination trade policy that does not ship jobs oversees dealing with climate change tax reform (corporations keeping funds oversees, tax rate for investments, ect) dealing with monopolies raising the minimum wage The vast majority of americans believe these are good things for the country. So if this is a socialist agenda, then we live in a socialist society. -

Boulder for sure. Guide tennies another choice is terrain is drier. Any trail running shoe would be fine if crampons are not needed.

Not to mention the thousands of folks killed in Kathmandu.

would have been nice to see a euro death knot (overhand) done. so how could this situation happen? Maybe if an anchor was made by a bowline around a tree, someone clipped into the loop with a daisy chain and took a short fall factor 2 fall. somewhat unrealistic but possible.
