  1. I tell ya what sucks...trying to download a 100mb OS update pkg with dial-up ISP that gives me about 5-7k/s. Put that thing on and go to bed, hopefully I won't have one of these radom "The modem has unexpectedly hungup" I've been getting. WTF is that all about? I don't have the "disconnect if idle for xx minutes" setting turned on either. Speaking of sleep...that's where I'm going.
  2. Yeah, it WAS Dragon Quest...fuckin bullshit is what they should have called it! Kung Fu was cool. I remember playing some weird game on the apple IIE where you were wandering around Hitler's bunker it was like a primitive version of Doom and if you got far enough you could see Hitler, but we never figured out how to get in there and wax his ass.
  3. YEAH!!! Was based on some Disney flick that had just come out or something, this young medieval prince guy with a sword, you couldn't control shit in that game.
  4. You know, security issue must be site specific in this case...other secure servers aren't giving me probs. No little "lock" icon to show a secure site either huh?
  5. Hell yeah, DOUBLE DRAGON!! That's the one.
  6. then give up the beta Foo! What's with the tabbing and security certif things? won't allow a bypass either...hit continue and it kicks out the same msg.
  7. GALAGA baby! Best game ever made. All time fave. Centipede was cool, Tempest was fun. But nothing could touch Galaga. the original Mortal Combat, Punch Out was fun and this other game I forget the name of where you could play as team of 2 and were basically just kickin ass in street fights..might have even been called street fighter. You could kick someone's ass and take their weapon...a chain was one of them I remember.
  8. Running 1.0 v85, just downloaded it yesterday on software updates...I'd have thought it would be the most recent. Also having some issues with security certificates...tried the fix that apple recommended by adjusting the date/time to be right, but that didn't solve it. Could be the specific site. I was also wondering why you can't tab to buttons like on other browsers...my Win machine always tabs to buttons, Exp 5.2 on my Mac tabs to some of them, and safari doesn't tab to any I've found yet. Just jumps to another field somewhere...and example is like the login here or on hotmail or something. enter name, hit tab, enter passwd, hit tab...normally should highlight "enter" button...doesn't do it. The browser is pretty slick otherwise, I don't want to can it for some minor stuff like these issues.
  9. I think slippers might be one of the most resole friendly shoes. I say this because on a stiff shoe, you're going to lose some of the midsole..and hence performace, with each resole due to the removal process. On a slipper, you've got no stiffness issue, as long as the resoler doesn't rip through the leather on the bottom, you're golden. I had a pair of Vipers resoled 3 times and if they didn't have big 'ol holes in the tops they would still be my favorite shoe.
  10. Just loaded Safari...mostly very cool, but some weird shit. Ex: the RAWK!!! graemlin and Ehmmic's frog have a black flashing background (looks like when the animated gif loops it flashes) Bug or simple fix?
  11. Nah man, as I said that was an upper body day. The leg adduction/abduction works around the hips, I also do hanging leg raises for lower abs and hip flexors. I do some kind of leg power work ('cause I got small legs), not too many reg squats any more, usually on Smith rack, or leg press, also heavy calf raises. Stopped on the deadlifts because of injury potential and it's a pain to stack that much weight on the bar. Used to LOVE doing cleans from the floor though...at one point I was maxing at twice my bodyweight. Man, there's not much else to do up here except drink or workout. Once it dips past -20, even xc skiiing isn't appealing. I took a few years off from the weight room in college, and I've been pretty slack the last few years, but I've been moving iron since I was 15. My high school weight room would put many full-on gyms to shame. If you were an athlete in my school, you took weight training as a PE class every quarter. That much volume isn't a big deal for me during the 12 rep phase. When I go to 3 rep phase, I cut some exercises. I also take morning HR before getting out of bed and adjust my workouts accordingly. Can't stress enough to heed the signals your body gives you, HR for me is an extremely useful tool.
  12. Boy this beer looks GREAT! I'm sure glad I don't know that the liberal minimum wage ski resort worker who poured it also pissed in the cup to top it off!
  13. Paying respects to her mentor
  14. How do you mean? I'm using free weights on everything except the mil presses, using a smith rack or machine for those. I guess I don't understand your question (or maybe it was a question for PLC).
  15. I don't have extra ribs and don't lose circ with arms overhead. And, it was only in one shoulder, not both. I'd guess probably not thoracic outlet. I think mine was a combination of a previous sprain in that shoulder coupled with ten years of neglecting the opposing muscles while climbing alot. Simple muscular imbalance causing instability in the joint, that's my assessment...but I'm not a doc so I'm just talking out my Either way, I'm psyched.
  16. Wow! After nearly three years of residual pain in my right shoulder, it feels virtually normal again. I'd tried plain old rest, rotator cuff exercises with a stretchy band, stretching, massage. No haphazard stuff either, very dedicated and very cautious...all to no avail. I thought surgery might be on the menu. Then I started doing military press, incline press, bench press, and pullups in the weight room again. Eight weeks later...feels great.
  17. Last time I was on Barrabes.com they had Boreal Ballet Gold for crazy cheap, something like $40 US. Focus rocks when they're new...great edging shoe, but don't resole well (in my exp). Sportiva claimed to have changed the midsole after that, but who knows. Only Kauks I had were the Kauk Drus, which are a wholer 'nother animal.
  18. 50 degrees... cold? Perfect sending temps. Come up here and then see how 50 feels, it was -38F at my place last week. Hell, it's +2 now and it feels gloriously warm out there.
  19. It's a toss up between this from DFA: or this from Capt. Caveman: Two worthy competitors and both had me
  20. Allison, WTF are you talking about? Get back on your meds yo! The guy had to jump through a bunch of BS hoops. I've done event planning and production in the "real world" and it didn't involve being subjected to the kind of bureacratic BS that it did when I arranged events at my undergrad school. With autonomy comes power. Three phone calls, a visit to a couple of folks to drop off deposit checks and it's done. None of that "we'll let you know if it's definite in two weeks" because you'd tell them to suck it and take your business somewhere else. The beauty of competitive capitalism. WTF are you so bitter about? Take all that misdirected energy and apply THAT to a charity eh? And you know what else.....
  21. Can you say "No shit???!!!"
  22. Damn snaffle, what else
  23. I just got back from the gym actually. Now I'm having a Pyramid Snowcap Ale and spraying Weights 3-5 times week, cardio 3 times week, recovery workouts (easy spinning to flush the system) the day after a hard workout, plastic couple times a week. Today was a typical upper body weights workout while in the base phase of periodization. Looked something like this : (12 reps on everything, weights in lbs) Warm up 10 min easy spinning Mil Press 6 sets - 65,80,95,100,105,110 Leg Adduction 5 sets - 125,130,135,140,145 Leg Abduction 5 sets - 50,65,90,90,95 Bench Press 5 sets - 135,145,155,165,170 Pullups - 6 sets Back extension 4 sets 80,80,90,90 Cool down with 10min spinning Tomorrow I'll have a long aerobic workout (spinning or stairmaster) at about 140bpm (my HRmax is about 190, anathreshold around 170 depending on activity). Day after that, recovery spinning in the AM and probably some enduro session on plastic at night. The most imporant aspect to training...plenty of the proper fuel...I suggest Jubel Ale, and Lucky Lab's Stumptown Porter on nitro.

    I will

Sounds reasonable to me. Pocket Rocket is a pretty rough dyno if you're my height. Moby Dick was cool, Scary Monsters was way cool..DFU. I saw a guy take that fall too. Big Joe and Smokin' Joe, yeah! That slab problem Feels Like Grit, damn that things hard. Almost broke my leg on the problem Caveman climbing it with the crack all iced up, thinkin I would hike it 'cause I'd hiked it before, hand shot out of the crack with my foot cammed up in there. Spotters caught me and were holding me completely off the ground dangling by my ankle. Tore up my shoulder and a finger climbing Snake Mouth (yeah, I know...WHY?) when I broke a foothold and all weight came completely onto two right fingers in a dish. Finally figured out and did Monkey Lip. Somehow flashed Reading Rainbow over near the "jeans" probs. SOOOO much rock for new probs, rad ice climbing in the winter in the L fork. Joes was cool and Utah was cool, but the beer sucks and cops suck. Lucky for me, I knew and worked with the Sheriff in my county, and only 300 people in my town.
  25. I think they need more hardcore boulderers like this guy And this guy. SEND IT!!!
