  1. That was his son, John Quincy Adams. (If, as I assume, you're referring to the Amistad defendants.)
  2. 1500 square feet! There ought to be a huge resource depletion surtax on anything over 500^ per person!
  3. How do we know that you're not just trying to find out who among us has WiFi so you can park outside our homes with your laptop and surf free porn?
  4. So, in j_b's world: Republican looters = bad; Democrat looters = wonderful. There is an almost identical scenario in Olympia right now w/ a K$$ vacant rental for the president of TESC. What a dumb shit.
  5. The technology to drill in deep water is not as safe as that for shallow water. Environmental groups don't want these safer oil platforms close to shore and have successfully lobbied/sued to get drilling operations moved to deep water. Now they are upset that an accident has happened due, in part, to the rules they antagonized for. They are, in part, to blame.
  6. I miss this shit:
  7. Yea. I'd like to get into night-sky photography too, but there aren't too many P&S cameras with a bulb feature. An optical viewfinder is a non-negotiable IMO as well. The G11 is a sweet rangefinder, but I'll probably keep using my little 8mp Sony. I missed a lot of good shots when it was raining like shit on the Ptarmigan Traverse last year, so a weather-proof camera would be nice too. A man can only have so many toys...
  8. Where do you stand on the trade off between a nice camera with a decent sized CCD (not talking about mega-pixels) and a pocket-sized one that will actually get used? I'm looking at the Canon G11, but I'm not sure I'll take as many pictures as I do with my little Sony W-somethingarather.
  9. Where's your TR from that JoshK trip?
  10. I'm gonna use that one.
  11. Knowing what you know about Choadaboy, do you believe he is the best (pardon the pun) poster child for this crusade?
  12. Yes; yes; and yes. As a parent, I would have scheduled an appointment with the teacher and tried to determine the degree to which his political ideologies (if any) were being imparted. Basically, is this guy teaching or preaching? If I found him to be preaching, I would remove my child from his class.
  13. Not at all. Once again, you're imprinting that which you believe to be true about me onto that which you believe to be wrong with the world.
  14. You OK, TTK? You're seeming a little angrier these days.
  15. yeah, cuz the article clearly upholds the notion that 8-ball is an apostle of debs i have quotes from stalin n' hitler on my wall - does that mean i'm promiting their life n' ideals? would you have felt so goddamn almighty to have done the same? Nope. I'm just proposing that, once again, your libtard anger is hypocritical. That said, I have no doubt whatsoever that a tool like Choada would have made my theoretical poster "disappear" post-haste.
  16. Frankly, I would have a problem with a teacher who was singing the praises of Eugene Debs too. Hell, even the libtard-likes of Woodrow Wilson and Oliver Wendell Holmes thought the guy was a piece of shit. As for the poster, well, think about what, as a parent, you would do if you discovered your child's teacher was promoting the life and ideals of Eugene McCarthy--and had a poster/lesson plan to this effect. I suspect you would be (rightly) pissed off.
  17. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/13/holder-admits-reading-arizonas-immigration-law-despite-slamming/ "Despite repeatedly voicing concerns about Arizona's new immigration enforcement law in recent weeks and threatening to challenge it, Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday he has not yet read the law, which is only 10 pages long. . . ."
  18. That's kinda what leftists do after it's demonstrated they had no clue to begin with. Your story provides insight...
  19. Fucking pussy.
  20. Apparently you're not up to speed on the life of Muhammed Atta during the months before his final flight. Been there. Tried that. Didn't work. Won't work. The only way to deprogram some of these zealots is by running a big electro-magnet over their hard drive--or just disconnecting the power supply. Think about how hard it was for you to shed that Catholic indoctrination--then multiply it by 1000, and subtract any hint of a secular education. Can't. Be. Done.
  21. Yes, we're all waiting...
  22. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8676351.stm A Swedish artist who created an international furore by depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a dog was assaulted as he delivered a university lecture. Lars Vilks says he was head-butted by an audience member as he spoke about the limits of artistic freedom. The cartoonist's glasses were broken, but he was not injured. Mr Vilks has been threatened on numerous occasions, but the assault at Uppsala University was the first time he has been physically attacked. The artist said a group of about 15 people had been shouting and trying to interrupt the lecture, which was attended by about 250 people. "A man ran up and threw himself over me. I was head-butted and my glasses were broken," Mr Vilks was quoted as saying by the AP news agency. A video clip of the attack was posted on the website of a Swedish newspaper. It showed police using pepper spray and batons to control an angry crowd shouting "God is great" in Arabic as Mr Vilks was led away. Two people were detained. Earlier this year, Mr Vilks was the target of an alleged murder plot involving Colleen LaRose, an American who called herself "Jihad Jane". She has pleaded not guilty, but faces life in prison if convicted. In 2007, a group linked to al-Qaeda in Iraq offered a $100,000 (£66,000) reward for killing Mr Vilks, and a 50% bonus if he was "slaughtered like a lamb" by having his throat cut. The Vilks cartoon was published about a year-and-a-half after a series of depictions of the Prophet Muhammad in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten paper caused protests by Muslims around the world.
  23. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64420A20100505 "While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they've taken from the oil and gas giant over the years. BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama. . . "
  24. Somewhere in Bellingham is an eight-grade leftist teacher who finally got through to an impressionable young punk. Too bad little j_b didn't take his education beyond that year...
