  1. Are you honestly trying to say you support Chavez as the embodiment of the Venezuelan people's aspirations? A dictator? C'mon, SC, I think deep down you can see this guy is rotten.
  2. Absolutely not. But I might be upset at my nation's oil weath being exported to Cuba and the jungles of Colombia.
  3. Freedom versus equity? What Hugo is up to goes beyond socialism. He's 100% Castro - albeit a bit more patient. As for Ortega, I admire him in one sense - as one of the only entrenched communist leaders to ever expose himself to a fair election and step down at its conclusion. He claims to have reformed his thinking re private property, and so far I've seen no reason to doubt his sincerity.
  4. Time for Chavez to get slapped. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6243299.stm
  5. You may want to try getting in beter shape next time. The guide service(s) on Rainier - or on any alpine peak - aren't there to ensure your personal comfort zone isn't exceeded. Frankly, RMI doesn't really move all that fast. If you were having trouble keeping up, you were probably having a very bad day - or were not fit. Their job is to get you and those with you safely to the top and back down. If your lack of physical ambition or mental stregnth is going to jeopardize the dreams and safety of the other, more fit clients, maybe you should hire a 1:1 guide that will pamper you - or learn enough about the sport to go at it as an independent. I seriously doubt your claims that the guides were "swearing" at you or other clients. In fact, I flat-out think you're not being truthful. I've never used RMI - or any guide - but I've seen them in action on Rainier for over 25 years and I've never witnessed such behavior. What they WILL do, is encourage (or, in some cases, insist) a climber they feel is not physically capable of reaching the summit to turn around at Ingraham Flats with a guide designated that very task. You won't find any other service doing anything differently.
  6. Part Aussie? Great dogs. Scary smart. BTW; beautiful ceiling! - but who put outdoor siding on the inside?
  7. And she actually believes that excuse?
  8. A freshly scraped blade of excrement and Charmin can turn that 5.8 monkeyface hold into 5.11.
  9. It's not the hands so much as the feet. Wash your hands until they're raw, but if you're tromping around the shitter with rock shoes on and then returning to the wall, it's all for naught. Swap out for your shoes before you walk into the bathroom.
  10. ...Never crossed my mind.....
  11. Depends on the type of shot you're using. Number 4 is supposedly the perfect home defense round, and in that case I agree. But 00 will penetrate walls just as readily as a medium caliber handgun round. There are fragmenting handgun rounds that minimize this danger. Handguns are easier to get around corners, easier to get up against a corner, and less likely to be wrested from you. They also grant you concealment if you dont want to show your hand.
  12. Actually, sawed off shotguns are already illegal. 18" barrel required. Penalty for violation is as severe as owning a fully automatic gun in many states. In Washington State there is NO waiting period for a gun purchase w/concealed weapons permit. A handgun is the ideal personal/home protection. The shotgun being the perfect home defense weapon is pure hooey, IMO. But you're right about the dog! Absolutely nothing beats a loyal medium-to-large sized dog for home security. Unfortunately, the bad elements of society seem fond of certain unstable breeds these days.
  13. Yes. I hear it's beautiful. I've read rumors about a Cobalt weapon in the arsenal too. Now that would make for some beautiful blue/indigo desert glassware if retaliation was in order.
  14. Let's face it. A hydrogen bomb is clearly the healthiest way to be incinerated. Light and natural, with no messy neutrons. Too bad they're so big and expensive. It's not fair to the underpriveledged that only the wealthy can afford the best weapons.
  15. Good point. Two guns below. Same caliber, same semi-auto capability. One is classified a so-called "assault rifle" and one is not. But neither of these guns would get you anywhere near a person who is proficient with this weapon: A simple bolt-action hunting rifle in common .308 or .30-06. Puts out over 3 times the energy that the .223 has. So what's the point in banning a gun that is used in less than 1% of crime, is less powerful than a hunting rifle, and almost impossible to conceal?
  16. Kim Jong Ill. He uses only enriched Uranium in his weapons. Uranium is nature's bounty, straight from the earth. I'm trying to stay healthy these days, and Osama's weapon would likely contain a fusion-boosted plutonium core from a Soviet stockpile. Very unhealthy, IMO, because as most of you already know, Plutonium is not natural.
  17. Even you once claimed to be unimpressed with the title. While I admire the hard work, dogged persistence, money, and yes, intellect it surely takes to reach the pinnacle of Mount Edu, I don't think the award grants special standing outside of the holder's field of study. Especially regarding politics. Besides, its been a fairly effective button to push.
  18. Your source on that pic is BBC. We're talking American media. Besides; when you're net worth is $25,000,000, looks matter less.
  19. Stop making sense, Foraker! I need to hate you.
  20. After you explain how congress can repeal constitutional amendments on a whim. Aren't you embarrased? I would be.
  21. Mountain Mouse. I think you better go back to....3rd grade. The "Bill of Rights" includes the first 10 amendments to the constitution. They cannot be changed by "a whim of congress" - but trying to explain the process by which they can is probably just rushing ahead. We'll give that lesson next week...and I'll try to speak slowly. Meanwhile, try taking your foot out of your mouth. I think it's telling that those here who share your beliefs - but not your lagging intellect - are willing to overlook your glaring idiocy.
  22. He and his henchmen gave a press conference today demanding that the state leftistlature outlaw certain-looking guns and impose a law that was soundly rejected by over 70% of state voters nine years ago. http://www.womenandguns.com/wfn/i676.html Shamelessly trying to capitalize on events in Tacoma today. Unbelievable. Maybe he should start by firing his police chief who can't seem to keep track of his own pistol! http://www.seattle.gov/news/detail.asp?ID=6877&Dept=40 Not much doubt that the governor Seattle politicos bought and paid for will do their bidding.
  23. You don't run this state you fat fuck.
  24. Nein. Ich bin eine Deutschlander. Mine muter und mine fater. Einhundred %.
