if i understand his position, i think he's saying that free speech is not really possible in a world where massive corporations take up most of the bandwidth - in this sense then, he would see himself as a protector and advocate of free speech in calling for the government to silence the deafening roar of the big boys. Except his fears are unfounded--as you explained to him earlier in this thread. In any event, the Supreme Court has largely decided media "fairness" issues, first--wrongly--in Red Lion v FCC, and later, correctly, in FCC v League of Women Voters.

The belief that this is all somehow new is what I find amazing. The media has always been nasty and unbalanced and, largely, left to its own devices Democrat efforts to manipulate the FCC notwithstanding. What IS somewhat new, is this breed of j_bs who feel an overwhelming desire to exert government control over free speech.

nah, i'm plenty elitist meself, plus i went to mr jefferson's university, so it was hardly an insult yeah, jefferson wanted america to be something like gandhi wanted - a big happy self-governing agriculture based commune - whoops, i guess hamilton won afterall Don't bother trying to explain American history to a post, post, post revisionist who gets his facts exclusively from Huffington and various websites that end in .org.

no, not a little mistake. but hey, 32 years later, if the victim wants the whole case dropped (which in this case, she does), isn't that a sign that it wasn't the worst mistake ever? No. While victims and/or their families are free to forgive murderers and rapists if they so choose, it is society that judges these crimes.

Forget the gold. Prole and j_b are promoting free silver!

Nope. But I hear it's still "up" in Thailand.

I guess I don't understand your assertion that FOX news is playing CYA on this Facebook issue? Why would they, since NewsCorp owns MySpace, you dumbass.

Let me guess, Miss Mitocon: You drive a Subaru Outback that gets a whopping 23mpg city and have it nicely topped with a Thule Rack upon which is affixed bicycle, ski, kayak, canoe, and safari-crate attachments? The tailgate is, no doubt, stuffed with $10k worth of camping and climbing gear--and, oh yes, of course, a bumper sticker with a cute little spouting whale encouraging the rest of us to "Live Simply".

The video puts to rest any idea that a skier can simply cut hard and "exit stage left" to escape the main body of a slide. You can tell he tries to do just that--before the mass easily takes him down and to the right. You can almost feel the helplessness in that video. Also, I noticed the rescue digger has an avalung on. I wonder if the victim had one too?

Wow. Wow. I was trying to conserve air as my heart raced just watching that. Wow.

What I find hilarious is that liberals now have control of the executive branch, the House, and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and they still can't foist their agenda on the American public. What's more; it would seem that the radical left fringe has become even angrier now than they were when GW and the Republicans ran the whole show--with whacko tools like j_b, Prole, and Coada even threatening to kill radio talk show hosts! THIS IS FUCKING GREAT!

I'm getting the impression that your definition of hate speech requires specific use of epithets, lacking that, anything goes apparently? Or the incitement of violence against an individual or group. I get the impression that you prefer a government/censorship remedy to your erroneous perceptions. Yet another example of why liberals aren't really all that liberal these days. Well, at least since GW left office.
-
Nope. You still can't do it. No specific examples/quotes provided that fall into the realm of hate speech, just another link to a leftist rag. Do you have an original thought in your brain?
-
You still haven't produced any specific examples of hate speech from talk radio hosts. As I've said here before, I don't know much about Glen Beck, but his Obama-is-a-racist comment--while probably untrue and distasteful to most--is certainly not hate speech. Limbaugh's kids-on-the-bus comment? Stupid, but not hate speech. Now I do recall that Don Imus girls basketball team comment a couple years back. That was hate speech--but is unrelated to this discussion and, in any event, he was appropriately drubbed off the air--by the market. So again, I ask you for specific examples of talk radio hate speech as they may relate to Obama, or his policies, or his initiatives.
-
I've been "hate-mongering"? Please elaborate. Also, I'd like to know what I "have coming". Seriously. Tell me. This is exciting.
-
Revealing political corruption and expressing vehement disagreement with policy is now hate speech? Stop wiping your ass with the first amendment, ya little B-ham commie prick.

MY GOD. WHAT HAVE I DONE!

That's nice, but no one should ever have to sit on a pumpkin.

Sounds to me like she had a legitimate concern for her husband's well-being and reached out here in a reasonable and sincere manner. I'm sure that having nobody waiting back at home grants you and Choada a certain degree of "freedom", but it doesn't give you license to shit all over Cathi's post.

I guess we don't really know, at this point, who killed this poor guy. But based on the commentary posted recently here by you and Choada, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of you.
