  1. I'll be there. Klenke, dont ask me to "check you out"
  2. Hey man, my buddy and I went to climb Champagne yesterday. We didnt research it well, and perhaps misunderstood the guidebook. The gully had some moves that were unexpected and , well, basically it turned us around. Hmm, mistakes were made. So, now this morning - a day late and a dollar short - I'm searching cc.com for info on that gully. As it happens I was just viewing this thread before you posted your TR. We saw you guys up there and wondered where you went That gully had us scratching our heads. 5.8? I didnt actually lead up and look at it myself - I belayed below the chockstone - but my pal thought it might be more than .8 so we left it for another day. Please advise. Hmmm... I guess you might advise us to take up bowling...
  3. Good stuff man. Congrats on finding that rock!
  4. I'd be happy to on Saturday at noon. In that way maybe I could get in a pitch or two of leading with someone experienced first thing in the morning. Then I could spend the rest of the day with a couple newbies. Yeah, I'd be happy to take a couple newbies Saturday at noon for toproping Doxey
  5. Hmm, hope I dont cause trouble posting... The abbey style is progressing. I moved it to the secondary fermentation - it'll sit there for almost two weeks then I'll keg it and hopefully it'll be ready for RopeUp. After siphoning to the secondary, we clean up after the primary. Mmmmm, yeast stool, beer's dirty little secret.
  6. Okay, howz about three days in WA? Weather forecast looks okay over there. Couple days in Leavenworth, maybe a day at Tieton... I could leave later today or Friday. I guess at this point Friday would be better but whatever
  7. Wow, supposed to leave for Smith tomorrow and my partner just bailed on me . I'm all packed and ready to go, and its freakin' perfect there I lead only moderates. I was planning on all the easy routes - Cinnamon Slab, Super Slab, Spiderman... Anyone interested? I have a rack, a rope, and Thurs - Sun. Let's ! Doxey

Um, BUTTLICK! Ha! hey, this seems to get easier...
  11. Climb: Royal Columns- Date of Climb: 9/11/2005 Trip Report: Went with a buddy to RC yesterday. Got some sun and a few rain showers but not enough to get the rock wet. Not many people there - only a few parties - I was real surprised. I havent gotten out in more than a month so I was only climbing 5.5 stuff, but 5.5 can really get your attention there.

Well, okay... I'm not real comfortable with this... You guys all ... er... SUCK! Ha! There! I did it! Okay - whew! Boy.
  13. Had another look at that keg - not as much in there as I thought. Since it rained Saturday I stayed home and made up another batch, an abbey style . It might be ready in time for RopeUp. I'll keep y'all posted.
  14. Ah shoot, cant do it this week.
  15. Hey everyone. I plan to come to the Rope Up. I have a half-keg of homebrew beer. I'll toss it in the car along with my rope and rack. Looking forward to it! Dox
  16. Walken hoax
  17. Good stuff Michael.
  18. Oh, just realized who I'm talking to here I think you've been Eiley Wiley so you know all about that.
  19. I understand about river crossings, I've had a couple issues myself over the years. We waded the Chilliwack just upstream of the trail on our way out of Challenger in late June - it was pooled there and moving slow, approximately knee deep. Or go Eiley Wiley Ridge - its kinda strenuous but boy its scenic - and no river crossing at all. I'm not so sure about belaying across a river - people have gotten into trouble that way cause they cant get loose from the belay and might have been better off swimming.

    Beer...........

Yeah, true, they dont do that 'check back' thing. I did have to go ask. Guess thats the way they do it. Boy they have good beer there. I liked the Rochefort Trappist also - real good stuff. We went to Rochefort and went for a hike to find the abbey. We stayed on route the whole way but somehow missed the abbey - bummer. Nice countryside but I wanted to see the place. We were close - we saw a cross and some other clues - but no cigar.

    Beer...........

It was FREAKIN' AWESOME, thanks for asking. My fave, And my second fave, So, we're in Ghent in the main marketplace. We sit at this outside cafe for a beer. The waiter, who I think owns the place - we called him Chucky - promptly seats us and gets me a Westmalle Dubbel - excellent. Cynthia and I play a game of cribbage - the laurels of victory were mine - and my beer runs dry. Now Chucky is sittin' with his buddies, drinkin' beer and smokin' cigarettes. Cynthia and I play another game, but no more beer, I'm dyin' of thirst over here all the while Chucky is partyin' with his homies. Almost like "island time" there. You'll get yer beer when they're good 'n ready.

    Beer...........

My favorite is my own Easton Amber. Er, each batch comes out a little different but nary a complaint. Supplies are limited until November. Since we're talking about beer, somebody ask me how my trip to Belgium went (I just returned Saturday).
