Aiight, I can help you out with that. From two years ago - thats me in the middle there - actually wearing shorts over polypro. Hey, it was cold when I got out of the tent. We went up hill for awhile, I warmed up, zipped off and... and... well I didnt know anybody was gonna take a picture and... well... But the hole in the knee makes it cool though, right? Heh heh... right?

Hey folks. I am going to give my weather lecture on Tuesday night March 21. me·te·or·ol·o·gy n. The science that deals with the phenomena of the atmosphere, especially weather and weather conditions. Join me for this fun introduction to meteorology. During the first half we'll explore why weather happens and cover some terminology - what the heck is a mid-latitude cyclone, anyway?? In the second half we'll discuss indicators and creating a short-term forecast. Of course, we will apply all this to mountaineering in the Pacific Northwest. This fast-paced show will be held in my spouse's classroom, S108, at Ballard High School - Go Beavers! The door will open at 7:15pm, the show will start at 7:30 and will wrap at 9:30. This presentation of the Bushwhacker Climbing Club is open to the public. Doxey For more information about the Bushwhacker Climbing Club visit the Bushwhacker Club website.

Right on! I figure the stuff used to be all over Phinney - it just got ripped out. Just restoring to its natural home, thats all. Mine were lifted from the Middle Fork last March, did really well last year. 'Course they're not much to look at now but I'm looking forward to a great year. Hey, the rotten neighbor kids might get in the yard, but they wont get out!

Bump! Obviously of utmost importance is avoiding avalanches. Having acknowledged that, this presentation is a little different than most. This will focus on avalanche recovery gear - beacons and probes - the different makes and models on the market, etc. I hope you all can come out - this is open to the public. Its Tuesday night, Jan 24, 7:00pm at Feathered Friends. Doxey

Its different. The 1002 Area is a caribou calving ground and the effects of industry on that delicate process are unknown. The polar bears that make dens and have cubs are there in winter - the same time that industry will explore. The grizzly bears will almost certainly be affected by industry. The musk oxen, once extirpated in a heartbreaking display of greed and wonton destruction, may not survive global warming and industrial efforts might put them over the edge. Oh, and, um, this is a national wildlife refuge. I know the tribes want the money. I know Ted wants the money. I know Alaskans want the money. I know the feds want the money. I know the industry wants the money. But its literally at the ends of the earth. Can we not leave one freakin' place alone? I guess we can't.

It really worked out for the best. I think we would've had a run-in with the hosts at Eightmile. BTW, those 8mile hosts were not the same as the nazi's I've encountered in the past - they were pretty nice. But the party would have drawn their ire for sure. Ch-ch-chatter Cr-cr-creek gets my v-v-vote.

I bet George thinks we're just all good simple folk that can be manipulated, but Karl thinks we're morons.
