  1. I just wrote an Ajax application that syndicates content from other blogs and feeds the titles (and links) to my blog. There are about 20 feeds on there. If you know of any other blogs (or RSS feeds) that I should add please let me know. I am tying to set it up so it is geared towards local skiing and climbing but if anyone is bouldering and posting stuff I would like to know about it. HERE
  2. Awesome trip! I'm sick with the flu so this really helps me get better.
  3. Well, Mick Scott and Mike Swayne from the TB run the show for the most part and I know Sandy has climbed stuff. Mike did the first ascent of the North Face of Terror, Willis Wall and a few other firsts. Mick has a baby now but he has climbed a bunch of routes. I can't remember anyone from the HL but when I was a member the board always spoke of climbing. I dropped out a long time ago so maybe this has changed.
  4. I love that route. Nice!
  5. Sloe Children was named after a band if I recall. Maybe the route could be another band name like Boogie Brown or something.
  6. Still a no-namer. Someone give this route a name please!
  7. What is the name of this route? Seems to be about 5.10c.
  8. Get your dollar billz ready. Tonight's flavor is blonde. See you there!
  9. You get your long awaited return of the 3-prong snake if you can make it Wayne.
  10. -Post your photos w/ caption in the photo gallery and then embed them into your reply in THIS THREAD. This rule limits the photo size doesn't it? Maybe I am ignorant on how to upload the photo and post it larger? I really don't have any complaints other than the one posted above. I should have said, "my only complaint"
  11. I did submit photos and agree with Gary. My biggest complaint is how most of us followed the rules and our photos are all the same width but in the entries and also in the finals there are photos that are much larger. I say disqualify any entry that isn't uploaded into the gallery and referenced in the initial contest. Disqualify any photo that was entered without following the entry rules. The ones in the gallery are 600px wide but then the biggest being 1300px wide in the finals. So maybe I should have entered them all from my own website and made them 1500px wide and maybe I would have a greater chance of winning. Am I wrong?
  12. Definately a good run because you get the couloir and also the ski back to the TH. It should be good to go. There is a second couloir too so hit the first and then go back for the double whammy and then ski out and you've got yourself a pretty big day trip. Stuart is a good choice after a good melting of the road so the approach isn't such a drag. Best to wait just a little longer. I've enjoyed it in it's prime (Ulrich's) during Memorial Day weekend in the past.
  13. The approach to Cannon is pretty easy. Hike up Mounty Creek road to the TH and then cut back along the old logging road that begins at the trailhead until you get to the outer slide path and then head straight up to the summit from there. Don't cut back up too early and don't try to ski straight back to the road unless you like deadfall and posthole torture.
  14. There are a number of subalpine lakes that are good to go in June when the season opens. Check the regs for season opening dates. The best season is July-September with Sept being the best month thanks to less mosquitos. WFF.com has very little in the way of alpine lake fishing topics. Instead try the Washington Trailblazers http://www.watrailblazers.org/ and the Hilakers http://www.hilakers.org/ They are both run by climbers.
  15. Yes but damn look where they got to ski. Nice job! I love that mountain.
  16. You didn't ski the couloir? Awww man. Well nice work getting out.

Pretty much any other method of snowsport is easier. Try snowboarding for instance.

  19. Gary you're holding out? Common bradah. Show us your skillz.
  20. Justin Ashworth approaches Sahale (alpine) Sky Sjue leads with Jim Nelson on belay at Peshastin Pinnacles State Park (crag) Sky Sjue explosion (ski)
  21. That would be awesome! Here is the invite: Picket Range Bluegrass Band
  22. Thanks to everyone who came out Friday night. There will be another show on Tuesday, March 27th at the Sunset Tavern. I will post something a week before the show. The Sunset show is going to be even better! Here are a few songs from Friday night: Dark Hollow - Vocals by Tony Bentley & Jason Stewart Leather Britches - Intro by Ross Anderson & Peter Cunningham In the Pines - Vocals by Ross Anderson & Tony Bentley Wheel Hoss - Intro by Peter Cunningham
  23. I'm not going unless Colin is there. I'm also not going unless Wayne is there. I still have his extension cord. I'm also not going unless Jim Nelson is there. And I am definately not going unless John from Concrete is there. Oh and I'm not going unless I can show you some of my gaper ski adventures on Snoqualmie Mountain.
  24. Yeah Rainy Pass was a great band. The fiddler was Paul Elliot who is one of the best fiddlers around these parts and is recognized as an excellent teacher these days. Gary and Cathy Davidson are also part of Down The Road. If you ever have stopped in at Dusty Strings in Fremont, look for the short guy with a big beard. That guy is responsible for getting me into Bluegrass. Peter Cunningham's birthday was last Saturday and Gary and Cathy stopped in to pick a few tunes. They were playing Carter Family songs and blending sweet harmonies. The house is going to be packed tonight. Come early for a premium seats and bring a few for some good wine and the tip jar. If you're into a little more campfire music just listen for the mandolin at the Coulee campgrounds tomorrow night.
