  2. Watch for warming trends.
  3. Pick up the Beckey books (Cascade Alpine Guides). Then try to find a route up any local mountain It should acquaint you with PNW climbing experiences well I recommend climbing in the Tatoosh Range or a pleasant hike through the Enchantments.
  4. "Klatuu, Veratuu, Necktie"
  5. I always reside at the Grasslands
  6. iain, You're probably right but I am not much of a skier anyway. Personally I dont care who heli skis where. Shit maybe that is another helicopter to rescue my ass if it be in need. Snowmobiles are ok. It's the owners behind them that make the difference and I can understand trying to just do a universal ban on them for obviuos reasons. I think this is not so touchy an issue for me but obviously is for others. Just trying to open my idea out there too. There may be more than 2 solutions to some ideas
  7. Puff Puff give.
  8. In my photos previous there was no hut but Vegetables, Wayne112, and I sure did see lots of smoke clouds
  9. That is a foreshortened view and you cant see triple c ice runnels from there. Good photo though. Most likely taken from the west end of the lake. [ 05-22-2002, 02:37 PM: Message edited by: Cpt.Caveman ]
  10. On the contrary- Go climb all the dirt choked cracks you can up there. Then pass me along the info as to which ones are best hehe If you are with the mtnrs then go climb outer space orbit and stuff like that.
  11. Go for it Dru good luck hehehe.
  12. I think you should ignore the forecast and go there. I would go but I promised to help a good friend move into his new place sunday. I know I know horrible time to do that but hey I promised. I was thinkin about climbing back there again soon. Just can't find partners. Most are interested in scaling a 100 foot rock face or something like that. Have fun Juan!
  13. I think we should build some huts back there and then you can stay for trips and move across the mountains as in Canada. Less impact in the long run and less need for helicopters or snowmobiles.
  14. I have met colin. He is very enthusiastic and friendly. He climbs well and is bold. He does not have an ego like some people. If that bothers you then too bad seek more training and or instruction.
  15. I dont know but Crack climbed Triple C last week. Crowds mob triple c this weekend?
  16. Yeah I dont doubt it. I have seen Colin climb. People are ridiculous just because the conditions are not super friendly they do not believe others. Good work Colin. Fuck the naysayers. Keep climbing.

  20. You step on hidden brown slugs at the local crags every season.
  21. You can't find the obvious or prominent tree or gulley described in the local mountain guide books route descriptions
  22. BC does not have Schmidt's Ice.
  23. You travel to Yosemite and hear people whining about the easy approaches
  24. I have an osprey pack. Not this one above. I have to agree that they are often over engineered. However the osprey pack I own is the most comfortable pack I have used. It has too many straps and such though..
