a friend of a friend was there in zimbabwe this past year....
they said a lot of people were just bartering without the use of cash between either hands when they were there this past summer.
Here is one interesting quotes from the latest GM 10Q filing with the sec:
"We are also eliminating discretionary cash bonuses for the executive group in 2008."
My feeling is there is no paradigm shift. I saw too many votes almost 50-50. We probably just saw a lot more moderates voting for the "lesser of two evils" and more poor people feeling a vote for black man will improve their lives--where they would not have voted before becuase they felt their vote meant nothing.
Agreed.
People do not understand owning a nuclear weapon shows others you have the intention to kill innocents and non combatants with the purpose of intimidating a government.
Legally that is called terrorism, and would make the US a state sponsoring in terrorism.
I have also heard of good things about USAA from friends. I just haven't made my decision to change. I have American Family Insurance for auto and home...never had any problems with home, but the car issues (which were my fault) were handled reasonably and the rates keep going down a bit each six months. I had State Farm many many years ago, and they were expensive....and I never had a claim.
Then by that philosophy, anybody who voted for George W. Bush in 2004 is responsible for the public deaths and American deaths in the ongoing Iraq conflict.
Owning 80% of AIG makes this country one step towards Socialism.
I guess that would make Bush, McCain and Obama have some sort of socialist ideals becuase they all supported the loan to AIG.
I have often wondered about this philosophy. If a republican candidate believes government is bad for you, then why is he running for a position in government?
I was there in May of one year. I wore the Rock Ice parka from Feathered Friends on summit day and many days before. It was very nice to have that jacket. On summit day I even wore 2 layers of mid fleece underneath and I had a bottle of water on the inside pocket of da puffy jacket and the waterbottle froze.
Had another friend who went in June and had wore heavy fleece and was fine.
Thanks for all the efforts out there of people putting together this website and daily maintenance.
Thanks also for my daily escape from my working world.
