The writing got published, I kinda enjoyed the rambling nature. It was kinda like Memento...not exactly.

I walked that back in 1999 after Leuthold, when I got across...I thought why didn't we have a rope for that...damn good it wasn't winding. Anyone do a snowpit after the warming? I did one during the last storm above T-line and it was nasty.

Exactly, treat it like a first ascent....go have fun and who knows but you, that which you shall find.
-
I say...put it in Vancouver....or at Jantzen Beach. It sucks living in Hazdel doing pull ups on a 2x4 in my living room.
-
Everyone can see mine, I think....go there now and join my Group Oregon AFSP Chapter. I like Myspace better...but I like climbing better than that...

Pasted from an email...for any who are near-by and can comment... The Anacortes Parks and Recreation and Community Forest Lands draft plans are now online. People will have an opportunity to comment on them at the Planning Commission and City Council meetings. Please see the proposed schedule at the link below for dates. Please note that the City Council Study Session set for March 23 will not be a time for comment as it is a study session intended only to brief the Council on the timelines for the plans. I'm never going to clip another bolt.

I was just wondering...I don't know the peeps who placed them...and if they knew how to place them....I know that Basalt is solid....but not everyone's bolt placing abilities are solid. That's the point I was getting at. -

Has anyone given a tug to those bolts in the other thread of the Bat Wall bolt ladder at Broughton? -
St Bernard vs Chihuahua. I'd go with St Bernard.

I just got copies of a rec draft plan for Mount Erie if any one wants a copy pm me. Anacortes Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan & Anacortes Community Forest Lands Management Plan Schedules Action Step Proposed Date City Council Study Session March 23, 2009 Public Meeting w/Planning Commission April 22, 2009 Public Meeting w/Planning Commission May 13, 2009 City Council - First Meeting June 1, 2009 City Council - Final Meeting and adoption June 15, 2009 This part kinda sucks for guides and rec parties of more than 25: "Recreational groups of more than 25 people on Mt. Erie shall apply for a permit from the Parks and Recreation Department. Instructional climbing groups of any size shall contact the Parks and Recreation Department to discuss plans and size of their group. They must sign the City’s hold harmless agreement, and provide proof of liability insurance, participant waivers, date(s) of use, a dispersal plan for where they plan to climb on the mountain, and a sanitation plan. Proposed climbing dates should be submitted 3 months in advance to the Parks and Recreation Department. Instructional groups shall have all paperwork submitted one week prior to use on the mountain." That's all I found so far...

Maybe I'll throw in a few Flatiron style bolts....If I remember right, those are 1 inch diameter and maybe 24" long with an eye.
-
No bolts....maybe a piton or two...but hopefully clean aid.
-
the yellow is the route I want to try...maybe aid though.
-
I'm re-stitching the above pano...just noticed the branches growing out of the air. great keypoint checking..damn program.
-
Can someone draw in the routes on my photo? Thanks

[TR] Mt. Hood - North Face Gully (Right Hand) 2/1/2009

Sick. I'll have to tag that. -
If I send a large photo file of Crown Point to someone on here...I was wondering if I could get routes drawn in on the face. I have an ancient guide book with a sketch showing two routes...I need more info on this cliff. Thanks for any help.

Star Wars maybe...on Hoth...get in a jam, cut it open crawl inside to say warm...???
-
i agree - hooking in holes iz kewl! I'd disagree, patch'em. Yeah...holes are just as bad as the bolts....
-
Well, too bad it's not the Flatirons...then this would be resolved with no questions.

Cool climb. How did the NW couloir look?
-
So, it's not an "old" aid route. There should not be a bolt next to a crack that can easily take pro at a spot that was climbed with pro in the first place. But I don't know how close these bolts are to cracks with out seeing them. It's not like this is Boulder Canyon or Smith where most routes were first climbed with bolts instead of trad gear. I started climbing at the bluff back in high school and there was not one sport route out there....now there are a few. But this bolt ladder doesn't belong. I think I'll go staple some dead roses at the base of the bolts.

...a practice bolt ladder. Come on, go out to the Monkey Face and practice going up and down on that bolt ladder in the rain and snow until another party comes along...definitely not a clean choice of action.
