  1. Name 'cause I'm slow and white. The current image is a hamster in a globe hamster ball - which is sort of suitable for our world.
  2. ... partly due to chica's schedule (only Sunday off from Retail Hell), so I had to support the terrorists a bit more than I would have liked. Still got 2 days out on some grand chunks of rock. chestbeat pix. unfortunately, didn't get any up at PG, so am stuck with the Pad Person shots.
  3. Bouldered at Swftwater on Saturday - got humbled, as usual, by Royal Flush, did laps/variations on Footless Traverse, played on some larger numbers on the same boulder, then watched Cole Allen work a project using the Footless Traverse 'footholds' for his starting holds. Went and cried in my scotch. Sunday- goofed around Seattle with the chica. Monday- Went up to Pearly Gates for the first time - A grand bit of granite. Ticked off about 10 pitches worth of climbing between 5.8 and 5.12 for a Grade III day. Finished off on the 10d slab off right for the shakiest on-sight of the day.
  4. I've got the Canon A70 - the A80 seems to be the standard now (3 MP vs. 2MP). I like it for the metal case and slightly beefier build. I've had it for 9 months, so am still in the experimenting phase with it- my g/f has a Fuji Finepix - 2 nice things about it - through-the-lens viewfinder and a 6X optical zoom - most of the digis only have a 3x zoom. Its a bit bulkier, but still on the order of a 35mm compact AF.
  5. Yeah, my folks were soooo pleased to discover all my preferred sports 'required' helmets - climbing, biking, skiing, motorcycling...
  6. or Courtney Love?
  7. Tonya Harding?
  8. I had a Petzl Ecrin Roc until it took a jumper off a ledge (dumb move, clumsy climbing parter). I replaced it with a BD Half Dome - a bit more closer-fitting and less noticeable than the Ecrin, which makes me much more likely to wear it, plus a bit more protection of the back of the head - the decision had come down to between the half dome and Petzl Elios, but the BD happened to fit my head a bit better.

Slate.com now has a Kerryism feature to complement their Bushisms feature. The obfuscating versus the inarticulate. Let the cage match begin.
