  1. It might be a nice pic if it wasn't supersized. How about this one then?
  2. sounds like the Peak 1 "Apex 2" I have had one for 11 years and it rocks. The grand total of maintenance I have had to do on it is - clean it once after I spilled soup on it and it burned on, and replace the O-ring twice. Unlike these MSR people whose stove comes with a maintenance kit because you have to fix it every week oh yeah it's self-priming too.
  3. 78 cents each at superstore
  4. drinking beer on an alpine climb would be a SERIOUS SAFETY INFRACTION!!!
  5. i think they should install flashing LED lights on the bolts to help route finding during low visibility conditions. and maybe a bottled water vending machine on the 16th belay.
  6. Rather than you deciding where it is or is not acceptable to take beginners why not just get off your high horse and accept that some bumbly beginners will have epics trying to tr the lower part of mounties doom and others will be perfectly fine climbing outer space on their first day outside? maybe you can be the crag police stopping violators at the trailhead and saying how the cliff up ahead is off limits to beginners and checking for Stoned Gardens or Pervertical World belay cards.
  7. last night thieves stole the entire town of squamish! by now it has been broken up at a chop shop and soon little bits of squamish, and cheap pirated copies made in guangdong, wiull be available for purchase on the streets of hong kong.

    Canoe?

CANOEING? WTF are you turning into a Canadian? Sell your guns, grow a beard, drink Molsons and eat Kraft Dinner with maple syrup, live in an igloo, and know all the words to Stompin' Tom's "The Hockey Song". Then you won't need to borrow a canoe cause you will own one. By the way - I don't have a canoe. Also - how is sex in a canoe like Labatt's? It's fuckin' close to water!
  9. 3.5 wild country friend = 2.5 camalot
  10. at least CP had the details correct enough to call them ice climbers rather than hikers and didn't call the supercouloir a "trail" either If I ever die climbing and some news anchor calls me a HIKER I will curse them from the afterlife!!!!
  11. ooooh, a 5.8 slab on his first day climbing...what a challenge i've seen people TR-flash 5.10 on their first day climbing outside

Blue Guy: "I'm sure glad that in the OMA we don't have to wear long polypro under our shorts like they do in the Mounties!"
  15. maybe a #1.5 camalot is coming down the pipe next what colour would it be? orange?
  16. I'm OK with the private road although i'd rather see no road. it keeps the tourons conveniently located in a part of the park far away from the climbing area.
  17. The road to the lake requires a PRIVATE LODGE JEEP (closed to public vehicle usage) or a 5 hour hike. We were on the other side of the divide in Wall Creek which has a swampy "trail" and no crowds.
  18. to the fallen.
