  5. Shit dude, you don't think it WASN'T editted? I don't have the dates in my head, but it was around 400 ad that the bible in its current form was editted and amalgamated from a much larger of body of greek and hebrew writing. Read all about it!
  6. I think we should bring back horses as a form of mass transport. Efficent use of biomass as fuel (grass), wastes primarily organic compost, and Co2 and methane I guess same as those damn cows. Plus you get saddlesores and chaps and "pretty damn Western" stuff like that. Use climbing knots to tie up Mr Ed to the ol' hitchin post while you go into Starbucks for a latte... instant yuppie envy! "Still driving that old nag? I just bought a new Lippizaner!"

  9. A Strain's a TD according to my handy dandy conversion chart! I myself am gonna quibble with NOLSe's description of Steve House on N Twin as "freeing the crux". Seems like a fair bit of aid was used on this climb according to the published descriptions! [namedrop]Maybe he was thinking of Raphael on Temple [/namedrop]
  10. The brain drain reversed itself years ago. Must be all the blue staters moving out of Jesusland. cj1000fs little graph doesn't show per capita gas consumption but total consumption, so it's comparing apples to oranges.
  11. The best container for hydrogen is an enormous dirigible, decorated with large swastikas. Don't be silly, the best container for hydrogen is the core of Jupiter
  12. Hey I'm fully in favour of people who insult the bald being mauled to death by killer bears sent by the Lord! I'm bald myself... oh wait that's the Old Testament so this is only reasonable for Jews, not Christians, right
  13. Well hey that makes it all right then! DUUUUDE they slipped him some Rohypnol and he didn't know what he was doing!
  14. Hey Bogen fat in the skin and fat in the gut both get burned for energy. I'd rather carry 10 lbs. of body fat than 10 lbs. of butter in my pack.
  15. You might call it Salo (sounds like a Finnish hockey player to me) but I've only heard it called Speck. Wash down with vodka.
  16. Actually there are some catalysts in prototype that will get you hydrogen direct from methane or ethanol or whatever with no need for electricity. Also its a lot easier to store hydrogen than it is to store electricity. So you can have a solar cell that wouldn't itself be able to power a car making hydrogen, then fill up a car and run it off the stored hydrogen that solar cell made.
  17. NAFTA does not cover water! Try anything and we'll turn off the tap on the Columbia and make that portland-vancouver bridge obsolete.
  18. In the mean time, I'm gonna sacrifice some more small animals and see if that helps. you mean kill some kittens?
  19. That's population and GDP of California not LA county beeeeyotch! And 90% of North America's fresh water. Are you thirsty?
