Not too sure what you're talking about- I don't remember anyone having a sledge hammer. He knocked it over by kicking the top of it while on rappel...hence the safety hazard...if it fell over by merely kicking it. And just to clarify- WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SMALL PILLAR ON THE LOWER WALL, NEXT TO COLD CUT COMBO, SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED 2 YEARS AGO- (just in case the sheriff may be reading this. and got confused)
I was thinking at this point, perhaps we could steer this conversation towards DonkeyPunch, and why it is that we are no longer graced with his presence...and then, maybe, we could begin posting obscene icons....
Actually- some little bald dude with a Prana symbol tattoo came up and bitched at me for hitting the golf balls (which I had nothing to do with). I'm sure his buddies were impressed with what a tough guy he was. If you have such a problem with plastic pants guy, I can give you his number so that you can arrange to tell him in person- I'm sure he'd be happy to accomidate you. As for the tower next to CCC- it was a safety hazard. A week earlier, the whole thing shifted as a guy I was belaying leaned on it- better for it to fall while noone was below it, in a controled environment. True, plastic pants guy can be annoying, but I think it's pretty lame to talk like a tough guy behind a computer.
Squamish was awesome this weekend!!!!!!! That was my first time ever climbing there- went there with N*NW. We ended up staying in a hostel- $15 canadian per night, pretty sweet deal. I've decided to denounce my American citizenship and become a Canadian- french fries with gravy from here on!!!!!

Just surfing the Smith Rock website and found a few quotes for ya-"I tried it many times with natural gear, but finally gave up because it was so hard to let go, place the gear, and continue. I came very close, but lost interest. Part of the problem was that the final undercling was really freaky to do on natural gear... I finally bolted it, and did it first go"..."According to the guide, there's now some bolts at the bottom to keep the pin scars open for jams"
Granted- they are talking about one hell of a hard climb, but I thought I'd try and fan the flames.
