Geek_the_Greek Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 (edited) You're all cheating - we only get 3 routes total! (oops- maybe not....anyway) my picks: -Rainier: Gib ledges -Squamish: Grand wall -Smith: Wartley's revenge Edited January 24, 2003 by Geek_the_Greek Quote
Alasdair Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Hey Col. I broke one of the biggest holds off of Zebra seam about 2 years ago. It is considerably harder now. Let me know when you get close to getting up it and I will head down and break some more off. Good luck that thing is pretty hard. Quote

Alasdair Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Top 3 routes... All alpine 1. Project unclimbed ridge #1 2. Project unclimbed ridge #2 3. Project traverse Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I though it was easier the first time I tried it on TR. I took some whippers this summer. Quote
Alasdair Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Easier on top rope? I dont know what you are talking about. I highly recomend going when it is in the 40s. The tiny edges on that thing do not take to warm rock shoes very well. I think it snowed just after I got to the anchors. Quote
Off_White Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I've been daydreaming of alpine traverses of late: 1: Torment-Forbidden 2: Joffre Enchainment 3: Viennese-Clarke Quote
cracked Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Zebra Seam isn't bad. Of course, I get to the last bolt, grab the sidepull-bucket on the right side of the crack, and then do an easy iron-cross into the buckets on the left. It is a long stretch, but my plus 4 inch ape index definitely helps. Where did this hold come off? Quote
Uncle_Tricky Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 E. Face Chianti Spire E. buttress SEWS Liberty crack Dreamer and a bunch of other Darrington stuff Quote
Alasdair Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I dont really remeber exacly but I believe the hold was just after about the 4th bolt maybe the 5th right in the seam. It was one of those nice big holds that you could layback off of. Now you have to do a little traverse to the left on tiny little holds to get up. Quote
cracked Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 There is one spot where I use some big sloping edges to go left. But that is pretty easy. I think at the 4th or 5th bolt you can get a good layback, get your right foot up WAY high, rock over, and span about four feet in one not-unrealistic move. It's a nice route however you do it. Quote
Alasdair Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Makes no difference to me anymore since I have not been to a gym or a sport crag in a year, and dont really care to. Quote
