Cds26 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Looking at the forecast this week, it looks like rain saturday, but sunday is nice. I'm not from Leavenworth, but I know the rock stays pretty dry and dries quickly. Is it likely the Snow Creek Wall could dry before afternoon? Quote
telemarker Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I just saw it yesterday. There's still about 2 feet of snow and rime ice covering the entire face. Check back in June. Feel free to share my response to everyone you know in the Seattle metro area and beyond. Quote
Woodcutter Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 ...what about the army of ticks & the indigenous 6' crag rat with attitude, dem too! Quote
genepires Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 in case you are unable to read BS, the above is BS. except for the ticks. Quote

CaleHoopes Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Rime ice? Grab the tools and lets go mixed climbing! Â Ticks require different tools. Quote
G-spotter Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If I pull on an in situ tick to get through the crux, is that aid or a feature of the route? Quote
ajpederson Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If you can hit it on the way down, it's in on the way up. Quote
matt_warfield Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) Goats? Ticks are probably included for free. Edited April 5, 2014 by matt_warfield Quote
cfire Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Was on the wall today. While tick checks with your significant other could lead to a romantic evening, I would recommend shaving yourself clean head to toe and wearing a Mr Clean outfit on Snow Creek wall right now. We ran out of there after one route while swatting ourselves silly. Â The dudes having the epic on the wall are surely anemic by now. Quote

Eric K Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Any chance the amount of ticks per square foot has gone down yet? Really want to get out there but don't feel like brushing ticks off me every few minutes. Â Eric Quote
Matt Lemke Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I did Outer Space on May 3rd and the ticks were not too bad. Every once in awhile I would pull one off my foot Quote
montypiton Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) climbing around Goat Dome on May 5, my partners and I cleaned off about a dozen or so ticks apiece for the day. With snow barely gone, tick season is really just getting started... but SCW has a less brushy approach, so perhaps less exposure to ticks... just have your partner go first!
