olyclimber Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 It seems like Thanksgiving is the ugly step child anymore. Its really just Christmas's little bitch these days. The reason for this is simple: Thanksgiving really falls down on the job in supporting consumerism. We need to save Thanksgiving and make it relevant again. We need to hook it up to the capitalist engine, and make it something consumers crave...something tangible that can be purchased... preferably in bulk. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Perhaps turning it into another "Heavy Drinking Holiday" would bring it up close to Halloween's stature. Quote

KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Screw the presidential pardon this year. Let's get back to our roots and have Barry lop off a turkey's head with a hatchet. Maybe he could scare the super-committee into action as a side-effect. Quote
ivan Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Perhaps turning it into another "Heavy Drinking Holiday"... boy, i must be ahead of the curve - for years i's been dedicated to the tradition of running 5 miles t-giving morning then drinking a 5th by the end of dinner - makes doing the dishes more of a survivalist experience Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 This year its' back to basics: Roast free-range coon, squirrel kabob, chestnut pie, laurel berries, dandelion salad, meth. Home grown, home made, and ho friendly. Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) They're probably indistinguishable from the Catholic church in that regard. Walking into said church is like going back in time to the late sixties, early seventies. Fucking depressing. Edited November 22, 2011 by tvashtarkatena Quote
