…compared to anti-redistributionists, strong redistributionists have about two to three times higher odds of reporting that in the prior seven days they were angry, mad at someone, outraged, sad, lonely, and had trouble shaking the blues. Similarly, anti-redistributionists had about two to four times higher odds of reporting being happy or at ease. Not only do redistributionists report more anger, but they report that their anger lasts longer.

seems like a "no-shit" statement to me - people who have everything sleep soundly at night while poor folk stay up worrying about how to keep their families together? wow, amazing insight!

Interesting since it seems the rich have just as much trouble (if not more) "keeping their families together".

that might be true, but that's generally more b/c they can afford 6k$/day coke habits? :)

don't think the rich folks family problems revolve so much around keeping their kids in health insurance, w/ a roof over their heads, in a decent school, etc. etc.

your point? (not that you'll answer, because your "point" is nothing you really care about.)

And it continues.....

Those who support capitalism and oppose greater income redistribution tend to be better educated, to have higher family incomes, to be less traditionally racist, and to be less intolerant of unpopular groups. Those who oppose greater redistribution also tend to be more generous in donating to charities and more likely to engage in some other altruistic behavior. The academic assumption that anti-capitalism and opposition to income redistribution reflect an orientation toward social dominance seems unwarranted.

Kimmo - A bit of parenting advice....if you have your kid look a word up in the dictionary (rather than give them the definition verbally) he/she really will remember it better.

isn't it amusing how regressives make up their own reality? I mean it's not like they aren't responsible for the largest upward transfer of wealth in history away from the middle class over the last quarter century. Denial isn't a river in Egypt even though propaganda about 'redistributionists' rolls off the tongue rather easily when corporate media spews that drivel 24x7.

How much time elapsed between the release of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and "Fuck tha' Police"?

Negative one month. fuck Tha Police came out first.

:mistat:

Talk about divergent realities, they both came out after 8 years of Reagan! A full four years before the LA riots, tho...

among other earth shattering news, those who tend to be wealthier, tend to itemize their taxes, thus tend to donate stuff more often. I wonder how many years of painstaking research it took to come up with such non-intuitive observations.

So, is this some frank luntz malarkey to rechristen greedy anti-tax regressives as "anti-redistributionist"?

What the dude actually meant: Rich Greedy Fucks Don't Like to Pay taxes and They Are Quite Happy at the Moment Because They are Paying the Least Taxes in Nearly One Century.

but I guess that wouldn't have conferred the right amount of academic credential to his bullshit.
