G-spotter
He trains for Everest by hiking with his Dog... That's probably better training for Big E, which is essentially high altitude fixed rope hiking, than, say, bouldering or cragging would be
Off_White
He trains for Everest by hiking with his Dog... Hmmm, that sounds familiar. Britain: Where you can fall from the top to the bottom of a mountain in only a thousand feet.

Jim
Actually he said before the fall he was training for a trek: Potter had been climbing in the Scottish Highlands with his three friends and his dog in preparation for an Everest trek later this year. But after he fell he decided to climb it! What the heck - figured he had good luck. A climber who plunged 1,000 feet from one of Britain's highest mountains - and walked away - is promising to climb Mount Everest later this year.
