tvashtarkatena Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Wow, 2 simo-Rossi ads on that link. The guy's proving he's still really good at blowing other people's money. "Control the spending!" LOL Quote
AlpineK Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 This pretty much says it Scepticism in science is not bad, but sceptics must play by the rules of science including publishing their conclusions in peer-reviewed scientific journals and not make claims that are not substantiated by the peer-reviewed literature. The need for responsible scepticism is particularly urgent if misinformation from sceptics could lead to great harm. The responses to this thread may be amusing. Then again I can already guess what "poster ***" has to say. Quote
j_b Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 The article is understating reality: millions already suffer from climate change every year and over a 100k per year die because of it according to the UN. It's not the first time in history that active denialism has led to crimes against humanity and it's good that some in the establishment are finally waking up to what some of us have been saying for years. Let's also not forget the jackbooted tactics of deniers against climate researchers. Outstanding scientists like Michael Mann and others are smeared, harassed, and their careers threatened on a daily basis by neo-McCartyists/GOP officials in position of power Quote
gertlush Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 As long as we've got somebody to blame other than ourselves. Quote
j_b Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 wut? Progressives are certainly justified in blaming corporocrats and their toadies for the lack of action to mitigate global warming. Quote
prole Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 As long as we've got somebody to blame other than ourselves. Is this like when some people we're saying the Gulf oil spill was my fault because I drive a car and it later turned out to be a botched Halliburton job and poor regulatory oversight? Quote
G-spotter Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Bullets don't kill people. Guns don't kill people. Only CORPORATE FAT CAT ARMS MANUFACTURERS kill people. Quote
prole Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I just quit driving for life. ONE LESS MASSIVE OIL SPILL! Quote
G-spotter Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 I just quit driving for life. ONE LESS MASSIVE OIL SPILL! That's only true if you actually stop driving. Quote
j_b Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 (edited) I just quit driving for life. ONE LESS MASSIVE OIL SPILL! so you must be biking because I doubt public transit is worth diddly in your neck of the woods, which likely leaves plenty of options for granny when she goes shopping (we wouldn't want her to blame others for global warming, you know ) Edited November 2, 2010 by j_b Quote
prole Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I'll start quitting tomorrow. I have to drop off my ballot tonight- STRAIGHT FUCKING DEMOCRAT BABY!! Quote
Jim Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Late dropoff so you can be the tie-breaker? Quote
