justinp Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Any GIS gurus out there Looking for LiDAR data from Bonneville Dam west to Washougal covering roughly 3 miles north and south of the river. If you can help me out send me a PM and we will figure out how to transfer the file. Quote
J_Kirby Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Depending on point density, that's a huge point cloud. Lot's of luck with that. Quote
justinp Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Depending on point density, that's a huge point cloud. Lot's of luck with that. Aside from wishing me luck. You got any suggestions? Or u just want to be a smart ass this morning? I am willing to crop down, but was shooting for the moon dude Quote
LostCamKenny Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 what is this lidar that you speak of? here ya go ivan... http://www.gisdevelopment.net/technology/gis/mi03129pf.htm Quote
JBo6 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) I might make it on campus later today, and could check if we have it. Are you looking for both WA and Oregon? Edited March 4, 2010 by JBo6 Quote
justinp Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Yes both wash and oregon sides. Thanks dude Quote
corvallisclimb Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 My GF processes LiDAR data for a certain company wich she said is in the process of doing the Columbia. She sais it would probably be hard to find the data for free if its all even out there, that shits expensive. I dunno though. What are you trying to do with it? Quote
justinp Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 What are you trying to do with it? Mostly just for mapping purposes. Plus I think it looks cool I found some data through the Puget Sound Lidar Consortium. The data is not as good as I hoped (sub meter), but it works for what I wanted for now. Quote
J_Kirby Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Just being a smartass for sure. We do some work with Lidar data too, but nothing in the area you're looking for. Besides, when we receive data, it comes on 100+ GB hard drives. Definitely higher resolution than you're after. Quote
LostCamKenny Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 now that's a view you don't often see of it... Quote
JBo6 Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 The hangover was victorious today and I didn't make it to school. I'm pretty sure that our LIDAR data is only Whatcom county(Bellingham) but its possible that more of Washington is covered. I will be there tomorrow around 10ish and can let you know for sure. Quote
justinp Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 ....Definitely higher resolution than you're after. Actually, I am looking for higher resolution data it’s just hard to come by free as Tyler pointed out. What areas do you have data for Quote
justinp Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 The hangover was victorious today yep yep Quote
rbw1966 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Have you tried the oregon GIS? I got LIDAR data for portland for $25. Quote

JBo6 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 No luck, Skagit and Whatcom counties, but thats it. Quote
justinp Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 a fine post-zombie apocalypse hideout fo'shizzle! Tell they learn to aid climb Quote
J_Kirby Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Lot's of areas centered around transportation facilities in the Northwest. It's a little spotty right now, but the list is growing. Highways and Airports mostly. Multiple returns on each shot means we're talking about point clouds that are very time consuming and expensive to manipulate. We don't shift data over our network, we just FedEx a hard drive. Quote
