Well it finally turned the damn thing into tatters. I'd have more insulation from laying a paper towel (or two) down right now..

...so! It's time to get myself a new one.

 

I got mine at MEC a long time ago, do those bastards still not ship to the us anymore? Where can I get one in the united states?

My partner has one, but I doubt he'd part with it. He still uses an MSR helmet and has fleece from climbing Denali a few decades ago. It is a bit smelly and tattered, with lots of duct tape (see picture) I like the Z-rest myself.

edit: also, I'm pretty sure that MEC will send those pads to us yanks...did you actually talk to anybody and try to get it shipped to you? or did watching ice dancing with brit turn you into a canada hater?

Got myself a gray one (Evazote) at Gossamer Gear a couple years back...looks like they are out of the 3/8" right now though

I dropped by Pro Mountain Sports yesterday, and Mr. Nelson said he was sold out and not sure if he would reorder. Sorry Layton...at least Yellow Hardman gave you good service.

Mike, how do you like the Gossamer pad? I ordered 2 1/8-s, got them but they look and feel just like a blue pad. Now, I never touched a yellow pad, but my understanding of Evasote is that it is quite stiff, denser than the blue and the surface is not bubbly and hence smother to touch, kinda velvety. Will you please let me know if your grey is just like the yellow?

Rafael, I thought you were a ultra hardman who would have slept on flaked out climbing rope. Isn't that what the usual old eastern block thing way?

it feels the same to me, maybe a little stickier surface. I already spent several nights on the snow with it and was fine with the 1/4" size
