LostCamKenny Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 ...that makes life memorable and valuable? Without an end, it wouldn't mean anything... rudy, you're making me think sad things - is everything ok up there? Quote
dberdinka Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 If your consciousness was in fact eternal your time here in the physical plane would ultimately be an infinitesimally miniscule portion of your existence (--> 0) rendering it essentially insignificant. I prefer to think that my daily existence as I experience it is important and has value to me. Quote

Off_White Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Sorry to hear it Rudy. Â Life is memorable and valuable because of the choices we make and the people we touch. I'm glad you had a second mom, think of her fondly and often, and tell lots of stories about her. Be an additional parent yourself, follow her example. Quote
TimL Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 what happened? an aunt who was a second mom to me just passed away christmas day. Â Sorry man. Quote
Sherri Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 what happened? an aunt who was a second mom to me just passed away christmas day. Â Aw, man, Rudy...so sorry to hear about your dear Aunt. That had to be a hard hit, losing someone so special and on Christmas day to boot. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have "second moms" can especially understand the heartbreak. All moms are a gift. Hugs to ya, pal. :kisss: Quote
Bug Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 My condolences. I still think about my mother who died on Aug 15. Who she was. How she lived. Â I think death reminds us that life is worth focusing on. Making the most of it really matters. It is our personal experiences and relationships that define us. Â Cheers to your Aunt. Quote
markwebster Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 sorry for your loss. I lost my mom over the holidays too, after a long illness. Kinda takes the cheer out of Christmas. I am reminded of something the late Tony Curtis said years ago: "I would like to live my life so fully, that when the grim reaper sneaks into my house, like a thief in the night, there will be nothing left for him to steal." catbirdseat Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Mark, I really like that quote. That's the way to live. Quote
chirp Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Sounds like a rough year for alot of people. My condolences Rudy as I am still going thru some loss issues from this last summer, my dog Max and my grandmother. Â When it strikes close to home it really leaves an indelible mark. Quote
