So I'm headed to the British Virgin Islands this weekend until Christmas. I've heard that there are some boulders at water's edge on Virgin Gorda near some place they call "The Baths" near Spring Bay. Anybody know anything about this? Should I take my shoes? Thanks.

Excellent little pocket guide, Kurt! Thanks a bazillion, this should be a fun distraction once I tire of swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, parasailing, scuba diving, eating, drinking, womanizing, sailing, etc. :)

sobo, why would anyone leave the beautiful PNW for such a place?

Oly, this is something that just screams to be done. I'm sure you understand... ;)

I spent two weeks on Virgin Gorda. Most definitely take your shoes. Two weeks of bouldering, snorkeling when you get too warm, more bouldering, etc.; and followed with lots of drinking at the little hut at the top of the trail down to The Baths.

You'll love it. I believe I have a couple of pics from there posted in my gallery.

Climbing shoes and chalkbag, check!

Mask and snorkel, check! (fins are too big for my carry-on. Not taking a suitcase)

Flip flops, check!

Some shorts and a few shirts, check!

Cash, cash, and even more cash, check!

Sparkling positive attitude, check!!!1 :)

Wheels up in 9 hours and 32 minutes!

Ho hum... Things are sooooooo boring here. Wake up about 8, drink coffee, eat, go boldering, drink beers, eat, go snorkeling, drink rum punchies, eat, nap, go snorkeling again, drink more beer, go bouldering again, scuba dive, drink more rum drinks, go find dinner, drink more rum punchies on the veranda, go to bed, wake up and repeat. You guys thaw out yet? :poke:

I finally got around to uploading some pics from this trip. Enjoy!

It was somewhat scary taxiing out to the runway in San Juan. Those heavies look a lot bigger when you're in a Cessna 421...

Nancy the Beer Fairy came to the rescue after touching down on Tortola.

We took a high-speed ferry to Virgin Gorda from here.

This became my personal boulder problem, right off our veranda.

Nancy and I took a hike to the "high point" of VG. I think it was about 1,300 feet AMSL...

Savannah Bay was our most favorite snorkeling area on VG. Very private...

When I was down sailing with some friends last November we heard the Willie T is for sale. Wanna go halfers? I think they were only asking a couple of million for it. Stupid high cash flow; no income taxes: shouldn't be too hard to pay off the loan if you can stay sober enough to make the bank deposits...
