sounds a lot like "all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds", which I believe Voltaire has thoroughly and soundly debunked.

i read enough to find it funny that he thought voltaire, not victor hugo, wrote les miserables :)

I wouldn't worry about it, most of these inbreads here probably think Les Miserables is a new reality show.

Thanks; but I was off by a whole generation of history; although Victor Hugo was of the same stamp as Voltaire, and was also a literary and political hero of the French people, "Les Miserables" was written in 1824, long after the major events of the French Revolution, during the Napoleonic era, almost 50 years after Voltaire died. Victor Hugo wasn't even born when Voltaire died. And, there are plenty of people posting on here who know their stuff, that's what keeps it lively.

dude, try teaching! after saying inane shit like that on a daily basis for a decade now, i've learned the best policy after uttering such a pearl of wisdom is to pretend you never said it, then just talk faster!
