KaskadskyjKozak Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 "Everything is always just as it should be, even at this very moment." -Isshu Miura Roshi, Rinzai Zen Master(a survivor of Hiroshima) sounds a lot like "all is for the best in the best of all possible worlds", which I believe Voltaire has thoroughly and soundly debunked. Mtguide Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Thanks; but I was off by a whole generation of history; although Victor Hugo was of the same stamp as Voltaire, and was also a literary and political hero of the French people, "Les Miserables" was written in 1824, long after the major events of the French Revolution, during the Napoleonic era, almost 50 years after Voltaire died. Victor Hugo wasn't even born when Voltaire died. And, there are plenty of people posting on here who know their stuff, that's what keeps it lively. Always good to engage brain BEFORE opening mouth.
