blue_eyed_demon Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I'm looking for a climb that can be done in a day on Sunday, near Seattle. I've already done Chair Peak this season, but something along those lines. I'm out of town, so I can't page through my stacks of route books. Thanks for the help! Quote
marc_leclerc Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Vanishing Point on Baring. Â If he sent Chair then VP is obviously too chickenshit for him. Quote
genepires Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 das toof. it will actually be a good climb this time of year with all the snow everywhere. In the sun all day. should be good. Â are you looking for snow lines or any kind of routes? Â Â Quote
mattp Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Whitehorse is good. Maybe White Chuck, though I don't know the Dan Creek road conditions. Down at Rainer, Pinnacle N. Ridge or Lover's Lane on the N. Face of Lane Peak in the Tatoosh are both pretty good. Quote
dbb Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 check out mt. kent's north face. it is right next to McClellans Butte. There are several cool gully climbs, and if the entrance ice at the bottom is missing you can always jungle up the trees on the side. Really easy day trip from seattle. Most routes are about AI2/3. DirtyHarry Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 You might want to have an idea about what's been going on with the weather, what will be going on with the weather and with conditions, especially since you have been out of town. Such things are typically good to keep in mind when planning a snow and ice mountain climbing outing instead of just asking a bunch of strangers on the interweb. Quote
