  1. I'm free Sunday. I'm really more of an alpine climber and haven't gotten on much rock yet this summer; I've been occupying myself more with big glacier climbs and low 5th class alpine so that I can start getting used to leading and free climbing. I'm still pretty new to climbing, but I can be depended on to set an anchor and belay. 5.8 might be my limit, depending. Guess I'll find out after I do a little warm up climbing at the crags on Friday. If you're interested hit me up at angelamarievogel@yahoo.com
  2. Did you know that everyone is either a pirate or a ninja? Pirates have way more fun and are way tougher. There is said to be though, a rare breed of lumberjack, but I've never met one.
  3. So I guess I'm kind of looking for a rope gun. I'm an avid alpine climber, but not as skilled on high fifth class. I'm going to be in Portland working all week, so I could hit up a gym with you as a preclimb. Though I'm still pretty much a n00b, my rope handling skills are decent and you can trust me to set an anchor. I just won't lead anything over probably a 5.7 or climb over a 5.10, and even that probably won't happen as I've been spending my spring climbing things like Rainier (Success Glacier/Couloirs-totally kicked my ass, I hurt just thinking about it) rather than cragging. Anyways, I'm dependable, smart, and fun and would love a chance to check out Smith Rock while I'm down there. Does it help if I mention that I'm an attractive, single female, lol? I'll buy the beer.
  4. Whenever I read all you gear snobs make fun of certain gear companies it really drives home to me what a bunch of pussies modern day climbers are. In the old days, guys were summiting in leather and canvas and women in skirts. When I was first starting to climb I used a Coleman sleep pad, a $25 tent, an Eddie Bauer backpack, and a department store coat because I couldn't afford anything better. It's great that gear has come so far, but I'm so tired of the elitist attitude as if you should be embarrassed if you can't afford a Feathered Friends or Patagonia. You whiners that wouldn't dream of climbing without the comforts of the newest, most expensive gear are the ones that should be embarrassed. Oh, and by the way, down is down regardless of the brand name.
  5. I'm looking for a climb that can be done in a day on Sunday, near Seattle. I've already done Chair Peak this season, but something along those lines. I'm out of town, so I can't page through my stacks of route books. Thanks for the help!
  6. I'm looking for suggestions for a climb that can be done in a day this Sunday, near Seattle. I've already done Chair Peak, but I'm thinking something like that. I'm out of town, so I can't flip through my giant stack of guide books. Thanks for the help!
  7. It looks like the team is complete. I am always looking for more women to climb with though, so hit me up for another climb!
  8. Dammit, I totally set myself up for that one. Good one.
  9. No wonder I can't find any other female climbers on here. You knobs scare them all away.
  10. Men who desire women like this are more twisted than she, trying to pull together the fragments of their tattered egos with something so utterly helpless and pathetic. Damn, it makes me want to take a shower. Now that's something for the spank bank boys. Or maybe she's just practicing to be an emt: Good On Ice Cream
  11. There was a CL gig the other day from a guy wanting some one to come climb a tree to get his girlfriend's cat down. Said he didn't care about the cat, but his gf wouldn't shut up. Perfect gig for a climber; too bad I was busy, lol.
  12. So ladies, I know you're out there. I'm climbing Rainier via Success Cleaver, and, before I round out the team of four with another dude, I thought I would try to avoid being the only girl as usual. The sausage fest gets tiring. It's okay if you're not very experienced, just be confident on your feet and fit. It's a very long but not very technical route. I know I'm way in advance for a spring trip, but I figure this might take a while to find!
