dougd Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 "It's a really good day today." "It truly is a great time to be alive!" Agreed. I'm more about learning from the mistakes of the past and moving on as quickly as possible. Not about participating in recriminations. I do not condemn those who choose to do so. Not today. The last eight years have been very difficult no doubt. My bottom line: I'm a proud American again... d Quote
mkporwit Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Wow, OK, enough of the circle jerk, Jesus... I'm glad the guy won, but prognostications that Obama will be up there with the sacred trinity of Washington, FDR and Lincoln are just a tad premature. There's still plenty of time for him and his administration to fuck it up big, quite possibly for reasons outside of his control. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 STFU, you fucking kewler-than-thou uber-hipster. And don't spill your chai tea latte when the door hits your ironically emo-jeaned ass on the way out. Continue circle jerk.... Right after 'Born in the USA', the Prost honeys put on 'America, Fuck Yeah!" Awesome. Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Last night was amazing in Cap Hill! Broadway & Pike was almost a moshpit.. crowd surfers, random friends i hadn't seen in a while and bumped into, even crazy gray-haired hippy guy waving ribbons around (he's a regular at the solstice parade, though he was wearing clothes tonight). Folks were erupting into spontaneous anthem singing, high-fiving, hugging, etc. Quote
mkporwit Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Sounds like more fun than the medical imaging exam I was working on at the time... Quote

hafilax Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 1932 and 2008 seem to be analogous. What's your point? There's no way of knowing what would have happened if McCain had won. It is what it is. Quote
Mal_Con Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Dow is a gift to Obama, odds are all anyone will remember is what it was when he was sworn in 1-20-2009 and change to 2012 with this low of a start it can really only go up. Quote
