Bug Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) It was Olivia's first ice climb. I had set up a climb with an old climbing buddy in Msla and Olivia overheard me. It was obvious that she would be pissed forever if I didn't take her so we packed her gear. The day was perfect. It would have been nice to do Blodget Falls. On the other hand, I will never forget seeing Olivia on points for the first time. And her form was perfect. She will do well. There was also plenty of hot chocolate. The Swan Slab proper had slid a few days before and we exited over the debris, ten feet of ice chunks. There are few times in my life that I have had a day as good as this. pup_on_the_mountain Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Awesome!! Looks like fun for sure. I'll have to get my ass over there, but its getting really hard to convince people around the Palouse to make the longish drive . Quote
Argus Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I thought she was taking a header in that 3rd picture. Blodgett is a pretty rad place. Nice work. Quote
Skatan Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Nice When were you in there the pic of Blodget Falls looks good. I need to get over there sometime. Quote
Bug Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 Feb 17. It is probably still in but the weather has been warm. BF is a classic WI2- in a perfect setting. The rap is climbers left from a tree or descend via the ledges under Nez Pierce (on the right). But don't leave anything at the base cause its a long ways back from the end of the ledges. Quote
rmncwrtr Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 That's so awesome, Bug! I have my girls looking over my shoulder asking who is that. How old is she. Etc, etc. etc. Quote
sweatinoutliquor Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Looks like a beautiful day in an awesome area! Good work on getting out there! Quote
ken4ord Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very cool, I dream of taking Simone out ice climbing or even better her dragging her old man up hard and scary climbs. Quote
