archenemy Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 If you are getting a rebate, you should spend it on taking an economics class. Don't ever, ever, ever give the gov't an interest free loan. Not ever. Quote
ericb Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 so do you bump up your exemptions to cover even your mortgage interest deduction? Quote
archenemy Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I don't always hit it right, but I usually get pretty close. Quote
JayB Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Money is going the other way... I expect the government will use it to go on a bender. Quote
archenemy Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 that probably sounds pretty familiar to a bunch of guys on this site. Present company excepted. Quote
minx Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 if i'm not mistaken KKKK might be referncing the current "save our economy, kickstart it w/an infusion of cash" plan currently being discussed in congress. $300 for everyone and more if you have kids. Quote
Al_Pine Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 $1200 for couples earning less than $150K/yr PLUS $300/kid. Woo hoo! I'm thinking perhaps I'll use it to buy my kids savings bonds that they can use to pay some of this back when this all comes around to them. Quote
rob Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I'm going to use my money to overthrow the government. Quote

I have heard of this…..so they are going to give me $300 and ask me to forget how they are running this country dry? Why don’t they just leave the $300 on my night dresser…..feels like I am whoring out myself for the good of the rich! Quote
archenemy Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 How did you come up with that range for "we all"? I'm lost. Quote

KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 How did you come up with that range for "we all"? I'm lost. from www.cnn.com: Rebate plan: $600 per person, $1,200 per couple American taxpayers will get checks from the federal government under a plan to stimulate the economy announced by congressional and administration officials today. The plan would send checks of $600 to individuals and $1,200 to couples who paid income tax and who filed jointly. Quote
archenemy Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Yeah, that only goes to people who report less that $75K a year. That ain't everyone. I will let someone who gets it share their bender with me though! Quote
