My poisons of late has been Talisker and Happy Smokes (as we call them here, a special brand of cigarettes that the rastafarians package here). The other day though the Mojitos were quite nice.

For fun new bars, The Copper Gate in Ballard just got remodeled and is now trendy-Scandinavian themed and has a bunch of aqua vitaes. Also, the Barking Dog has a pretty rad collection of Scotches.

I still prefer Calvados for an after-dinner digestif.

I'm too wimpy of a drinker to have a shot at becoming a whiskey connoisseur, but I had the fortune of being introduced to the fine art of port consumption while I lived in Australia.

 

It was a three-part process, as I remember.

 

Take a sip of port(a Rutherglen tawny is a nice choice), followed by a sip of hot coffee, and then a nibble of a Cadbury chocolate bar.

 

Smooth, hot, and sweet...all the way down.

 

Good times.

there's nothing better than sugar, fat, caffeine, and alcohol :tup:
