Roger Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 I have never seen a giant squid but I have read Jon Krakauer's book "Into the Ink." I know there are giant squid experts on this board and wonder if you could help me understand these photos and explain why this squid had to die. Katie Couric said one of its tentacles was separated. Is this true? And why are they so hard to find? Can't we just attach squid locater units? Quote
olyclimber Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 That second pic is not a squid. It is the World's Tallest Man, shortly after he became the World's Tallest Woman at an illegal offshore gender changing establishment. Quote
G-spotter Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 That's just a Humboldt squid, not an Architeuthis. Quote
G-spotter Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 BTW. In Soviet Korea, squid catches fisherman. Quote
woodsgirl Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 That is about 40 bucks worth of info. Just donate to cc and Dumpster will answer your queries. Quote
sk Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 That's just a Humboldt squid, not an Architeuthis. i don't know if it is more funny that i believe you or that you know.... Quote
G-spotter Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Well actually it is a baby Archi that is smaller than a Humboldt Baby squid killing Japanese! Quote
olyclimber Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 FUN TAUTAUN FACT: Tauntauns are irritated by the ultrasonic frequencies of certain droids, such as 3PO units, and tend to swat them with their tails. The droids of Echo Base have learned to be careful. Quote
olyclimber Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 What item did Han remind Luke not to forget before they took the Tauntauns out to install the security sensors? Quote
Off_White Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 If you're stuck in a snowcave I'd say a MILF is better than an MLB. Give me a Tauntaun out on the open ice though. Quote
archenemy Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Well actually it is a baby Archi that is smaller than a Humboldt It's not mine. Quote

Off_White Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Girl, you gonna have to head South 10 hours to see me! It's much more than 10 hours from Eugene to Flag, even if you drive like Muffy. Or even Snowbyrd for that matter. Anyone hear from her since she went to Iraq? I hope she's doing well. Quote
