Stefan Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 thanks for the porn. I don't have blue balls anymore. Quote
mattp Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 The Furry Pink Arete seems to be getting some attention lately, and your pictures look pretty good. How was it? Quote
wfinley Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Pardon my ignorance... where in the Bugs is the Furry Pink Arete? Quote
mattp Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Furry Pink is on the W. Face of Snowpatch, somewhere on the wall below the left-hand summit as shown in this photo: Quote
TeleRoss Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Yeah Furry Pink Arete is on the west face of Snowpatch. It climbes an arete to the right of the Kraus/McCarthy. Here's the line in yellow. There is a line that climbs the steep wall up to the north summit called North Summit Direct, somewhere near the blue line, and goes at 11+/12-, so a little more technical than the Furry Pink that goes at 10+. Furry Pink is a fun route, one I would recommend. Quote
mattp Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Aha. Thanks, Ross. Good rock the whole way? Quote
TeleRoss Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Yeah, rock is great. A little more lichen on the first couple pitches than in some areas, but the vast majority of the route is on outstanding bright clean stone. Quote
mattp Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Why is the world so cruel? The Bugs are twelve hours' drive from here. Quote
wfinley Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Why is the world so cruel? The Bugs are twelve hours' drive from here. You think your world is cruel? The Bugs are a 3 day drive from here... and the only time I made it there it rained the entire time! The locals took great pride in stopping by our tent (on the way out) and saying "You should have been here last week." Quote
TeleRoss Posted September 1, 2006 Author Posted September 1, 2006 Yeah, Colin has gone into super fast and light mode. I barely recognized him at the slide show. I told him he would probably be even a few ounces lighter if he went completely bald. Quote
