ZimZam
I have 45 days to do the PNW in my VW bus. I was planning on starting in BC and working my way south to Roseberg OR. What would your intinerary contain. Starting July5. ... ...
archenemy
i would be sure to always head downhill. And put a bumper sticker that says "NEVER NEVER NEVER get caught behind a VW" on the back window. then, I would extend my itinerary to include Yosemite. You have 45 stinken days man! genepires
start in squamish and stay there for a week. Work your way down the cascades, doing whatever suites your skills and desires. After rainier, turn the van north and go to the bugaboos for a week. While in the area, climb Sir Donald. While in the area, climb every cool thing that is up there. Actually, start in squamish and head to the canadian rockies. Forget about our foolishness. Oregon will be too hot. Yosemite in summer will be yosemite in summer. BC and alberta is where it is at in the summer. just my 2 cents. gene
EWolfe
That is excellent advice! Points south are warmer and more crowded, although the North Cascades, Tuolomne, Eastern Sierras and the Needles of Cal might be the exceptions if your heart is set on the Southbound saurez. olyclimber
Where exactly is this "police state"? were you thinking of hooking up with cc.comers for climbing partners, or do you have a partner all dialed up?
ZimZam
The police state is in the East and I dont have a partner. I'd be willing to hook up w/ any ccers.
griz
you should also say what kind of climbing you want to do...trad,mindless bolt clipping, alpine, volcano trudging....?
olyclimber
I'd start up a post in the Partners section once you figure out where you're headed.
ZimZam
I'm looking to do trad climbs up to 5.9/5.10, and some alpine ascents too. I dont have to do Ranier as I'm sure that there are other mountains just as beautiful. Somethings no to crowded. Or am I asking to much. olyclimber
One has not asked too much. PM me when you're passing through town and we will go up into the Enchantments and climb something....or even go cragging at Index or Leavenworth.

TimL
If you had from July to the end of September to go road tripping....where would you go? Trying to figure out the best use of our time using Seattel as a home base and also keeping in mind that we need to spend time with the fam. BillA
What kind of climbing is there around Bella Coola? I'll probably be up there or a bit this summer...
TimL
I'm thining we are going to spend some times in the Bugs and Rockies. But, a little bit more psyched about the Bugs.

There are plenty of good reasons - crowds, regulations, rock quality, park fees, global warming, better stuff elsewhere - to not go to the Rockies!
