slothrop Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Dude, just forget it. The Cascades are out of shape. Quote
chucK Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Here's a cool picture I found on NWhikers.net from a Nov 4 trip. This oughta really screw up the pagesizing on this topic ! Quote

Dru Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Looking at those giant panoramas always makes me dizzy. Quote
klenke Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Looking at all those Dru posts always makes me dizzy. Quote
headmasterjon_dup1 Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 That's a nice shot. Is that from Roosevelt or the smaller summit to the north of it? I skied across Snow Lake on July 4th this year !!! I think the slot couloir is visible on the north face of Snoqualmie. Here's to doing the Snoq Haute Route this winter! I think abbreviation a long word for what it really means. I think it should be just: dsfdj. Thank you. Â [ 11-21-2002, 08:14 PM: Message edited by: headmasterjon ] Quote
Ned_Flanders Posted November 22, 2002 Author Posted November 22, 2002 Hi, Â Has anybody been up to any of the snoqualmie pass mountains lately, around 6000 feet. I was just wondering how much snow is on the rocks up there. thanks Quote
sverdina Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 2nd photo...looks like view from summit of Gothic. Delcampo in foreground, Sloan & Glacier in back, right? Quote
chucK Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 I believe H-jon and Sverdie are both correct! Quote
Alex Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 yes, summit of Gothic, just a few weeks ago Quote
mikeadam Posted December 13, 2002 Posted December 13, 2002 I skied/investigated in the pass areas this morning and afternoon. The base layer is about 8-12 inches (aspect and valley dependent) and there is already a significant rain crust that developed over 4000ft making for some really shitty conditions. The new snow falling right now will probably make conditions 100% better by morning though. Quote
wayne Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 Good news all! They are coming into shape! Guye peak saw its first ascent this winter via the s. rib and I think they will only get better with time/freshiez/cold Quote
backcountrydog Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 what do u mean 'first ascent'?? i think u mean its the first time it was climbed this winter. if so...how do u know that? and today (22nd) is the first day of winter anyway. happy solstice all Quote
fleblebleb Posted December 22, 2002 Posted December 22, 2002 Since that's what he wrote, that's probably what he meant, don't you think? And it isn't hard to tell when there aren't any footprints in the gully snow... Quote
backcountrydog Posted December 23, 2002 Posted December 23, 2002 easy gov'ner nothing wrong w clarifying. some friends did that a few weeks ago (w snow). prob couldnt notice there tracks w new snow and melt/freeze cycles being what they have been. theres wasnt first ascent this winter either though... sounds fun anyway. glad u guys had a good time  Quote
fleblebleb Posted December 24, 2002 Posted December 24, 2002 Didn't mean to snap at you bcdog. It sure was a fun time, I want to get back up there and do something else soon. Quote
