sobo Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 ...when did the "ads by Goooooogle" and hurricane relief start showing up on this board? Page down to the bottom on any thread, if you haven't noticed this yet. Quote
knelson Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Think it just started today... I like it when their ad servers don't know what to serve yet. Right now, this thread is getting served ads on getting your ISBN barcode for the book you might want to publish. Uh... yeah. Gonna get a lot of hits on that! Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 so much free sean john clothing! Seeing how google ads are targeted, that's some funny commentary on this site's patrons. Quote
catbirdseat Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Is it just a coincidence that the departure of Olympia Climber ( ) happened at the same time the new ads appeared? Whoa. Quote
billcoe Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Hopefully Jon gets some great revenue off it and we can continue our addiction for free. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I'm ordering some Hip Maternity & Baby (Winter Clearance!) Quote
knelson Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I've chewed out KOMO's ad people a few times because of the ads they stream at the bottom of pages. You'd be reading a story about people being buried and killed by a mudslide and you'd get to the bottom and there would be an ad for boots or hipwaders. Not cool. Or the story about people being killed in a house fire and you get an ad for fire extinguishers. To their credit though, that was a while ago and it appears they're changed the way that works - I haven't seen any offensive links there for a while. Yeah... I can't wait to see the ads served when the conversation here turns to sheep, Enumclaw, and horsecock. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 "Local Singles into Rockclimbing" Right on. Quote

Squid Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 "FaceLiftDoc.com" Are they trying to tell me something? Quote
dbb Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 way to go Jon! I'm all for this site making costs back by using google's relatively unobtrusive ads. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I didn't notice the ads until someone pointed them out. I still don't notice them, as my browser window is short enough that I'd have to scroll to see them. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 well you're missing out on all the great deals on pocket protectors for socially maladjusted grad students Quote
