billcoe Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Who gives a fuck if someone else bought new gear? Fucking shut up and climb, and leave your sour grapes at home. That's very sweet young man, but doesn't answer the question of which pack to take when we all finally do shut up and climb, or where should we be carrying all those sour red grapes. . I'm a gear whore, and an elder one now as well, half the fun is talkin about it. Quote

I was talking to Mr. Llama there, who seemed very upset that someone might actually want to upgrade their gear before it wore out, or some panties-twisted kvetching of that nature. Quote
tomtom Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Arcteryx got some new potato sacks coming out this spring. Wonder if they'll be any good. http://www.arcteryx.com/ac2/ There's one now on eBay if you've got to be the first. $355 and counting. Quote
crackers Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 ...but the reserve isn't met because the dude knows they're going to sell for a lot more than $360 when they hit the stores! I just can't understand spending so much to buy so little. Quote
fenderfour Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Absolutely - you should buy a bag from this guy instead: CiloGear Quote
crackers Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 thanks for the recommendation ! but seriously, other than my sleeping bag, i don't think i've ever bought a single piece of outdoorsy gear for more than $500. Including my car! I buy plane tickets and road trips for that kind of money. Maybe I'm just too poor to understand... Quote

fenderfour Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 thanks for the recommendation ! My beloved Serratus Icefall is showing it's years. I will probably be buying one of your bags sometime this year. Quote
