ckouba Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Maybe 11'worth won't be so bad after all. Quote

kadyakerbob Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 yeah, cooper spur has quite a bit of ice right now flowing off the side but i dont think i can handle hiking up there another time this year. already been up random north face routes about 8 times since november...which is way tooo many! Paul_detrick Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 My contact today said he could see nothing on his way down,(banks)lake was starting to refreeze, was warm today, may go rockclimbing Friday if it stays this way. Quote
islandclimber Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 tack ice cubes to your wall and practice gentle pick placements. Quote
Franko Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 anyone have any suggestions where the best ice is going to be this coming weekend, thur-sun? leavenworth has been to dry for anything to form. Banks lake maybe? Â This was in last Monday. Â Quote
Franko Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Not sure what I did wrong, but here's another try. Biggest damn ice route in the west Quote
Franko Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 how's that approach? Â The approach is tough. Go over the fence & down scree to the base of the route, avoiding the river & sniper fire from the overprotective security guards. Â The top of the route might look problematic, but the feds will have a complimentary chopper waiting for you. Quote
joepuryear Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Climbed Drury yesterday. Its in pretty solid and the approach is hard-packed with low avy danger. Should be in for a while longer if it stays moderately cold. Lots of other flows are formed up in the drainage as well. Hubba-Hubba is fat too, with several flows on either side. Quote
