AlpineK Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Jeff H, Cman and I skied up on Nason Ridge today. We had a hard time breaking trail through the snow. Sking down you could make a turn when it was steep, but a lot of time even skiing 11s got you stopped with a huge pile of snow in front of you. Quote
philfort Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Same thing just west of the pass... I would have to agree it was too deep. Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Alpental was awesome. I90 closure must have detered a lot of folks. Snow conditions were as good as I ever remember up there. Quote
tomtom Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 We had a hard time breaking trail through the snow. Â Â Was up on Arrowhead yesterday and it wasn't so bad. Quote
AlpineK Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 Lots of people ski up to Arrowhead thus traibreaking isn't ever so bad. Very few folks ski where we were. Quote
EWolfe Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Baker was amazing today. 14" in the last 24 hours, blowaway snow. Â Â Guess I won't be doing any work on my Nason property for a while. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Skiied off HWY2 Saturday also. With only 2 of us, couldn't really break trail it was so deep. Above treeline, was much more manageable, but windslab on sun crust and poor vis kept us getting after anything too ambitious. Â On a related note, had literally 2 feet of snow in 11worth overnight. Took 35 minutes to dig out my truck. Quote
minx Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 we skiied near crystal on saturday. super deep. we were very glad to find a trail already broken for us. thanks to whomever put in the trail towards Norse peak. Lots of good turns up higher Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Baker got 22" last night and everything is closed except Ch 7. This is crazy how much snow we are getting. Quote
DirtyHarry Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Nice Minx. Is some great skiing to be had up thar. Quote

marylou Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 It was awfully nice and dry at Mission last weekend. No lift lines, great dry snow. Quote

still_climbin Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I agree, Mission was awesome Sunday, especially after the blizzard hit and we had the mountain to ourselves. Quote
