Blackberries from the Burke-Gilman trail work well too. thumbs_up.gif

There are just way too many pies to have a favorite.

As long as it is fresh, it's gonna be darn good!

I've yet to find a fruit that doesn't make a good pie (may be a cream pie, a tart, etc., not just a standard fruit-filling pie).

Try Oregon Grape or Mountain Ash and get back to me please.

One of the best pies I've made (and eaten) was with mountain huckleberries, picked in October, no less, in the valley leading up to Headlee Pass. I was surprised as shit to find good berries that late, so filled up half a water bottle and took 'em home to make pie. grin.gif

Used to enjoy the Honeybear Bakery's Marionberry pie after a couple of laps around greenlake. Ever since they sold out (and I got married, adopted a child and quit my Wednesday social run) the quality seemed to go way downhill. Anyone been there lately?
