pbelitz
It was by no means whatsoever too deep. We all had a great time with only a modicum of straightlines.
ashw_justin
If I'd been there on skis, I'd have drafted Tiny. If I'd been there on a snowboard, you'd all have been put to shame. If I'd been there...
Gary_Yngve
Some of us, including myself as Ph.D student in computer science, don't possess the technology to efficiently post pictures/movies outside of lab/work. And now I am off to the lab, having been away from it for almost 36 hours...

EWolfe
as in Lake Erie? Interesting fact about Lake Erie: It is one of the few lakes in the world tht is ON an island and also has an island in it. Island-within-an-island.
robert
There is a small island in Mountain Lake on Orcas Island too. I had never really thought of the Matryoshka like quality.

philfort
I thought it would be appropriate to post some Quick Facts about Lake Huron (near Lake Erie), which has some of that lake-island-in-island stuff. From http://blacksbay.com/links/manitoulin_links.html: Manitoulin has more lakes on an island than any other island in the world (total of 110 lakes) Come to Manitoulin & see an island in a lake in an island in a lake. Treasure Island is in Lake Mindemoya. Lake Mindemoya is on a bigger island (Manitoulin Island). Manitoulin Island is on one of the world's biggest freshwater lakes (Lake Huron). This is exactly the sort of thing I was pondering to achieve a zen state while my body and head were engulfed in powder this past weekend. RocNoggin
damn, Rainier was not the place to be last weekend. while you guys had "almost too deep powder that wasnt too actually too deep" on Rainier it was heavy, variable and packed. no face shots for anyone, even the guy on the skinniest skis! DAMN!
philfort
Wasn't too heavy just a little east of Rainier:
