mattp Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 There was a great article in yesterday's NYT, about how the child tax credit that Bush has been promoting as being such a boon for low income America is not available for half of those families with children because they are too poor to pay taxes enough to benefit from the credit. It closed with a quote from a guy at the Kato Institute or some place like that about how this program was a giveaway to the poor anyway, and it punished people who work: "let me make it simple: we don't want to be like France." bunglehead Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I must have missed that article. Which section was that in? Quote
tomtom Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 It closed with a quote from a guy at the Kato Institute or some place like that about ... . Cato Institute. Kato was Bruce Lee's character in the Green Hornet TV series. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 It was the Heritage Foundation anyway. article Quote
Dru Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Snopes Forum can't decide if this story is a hoax or not. Many state that the hook has been photoshopped onto the dog (note lack of blood) Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 3, 2005 Author Posted October 3, 2005 Hoax..I say hell yes! Woudl it make sense to hurt the dog? Why not just strap a hook to it via a thin kevlar harness? Wouldn't you wanna keep them swimming for a long time? Quote
foraker Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Kato was Bruce Lee's character in the Green Hornet TV series. Then there was Peter Sellar's Kato .... let's not forget him! Quote
