olyclimber Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I got me some raccoons on the porch! A ma and two little ones. I'm going to make them my cuddly pets. Snuggly little things! Quote
EWolfe Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Taking masked bandits into your home is always good advice! Quote
AlpineK Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I'd advise taking them into your house as pelts. Quote
barjor Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Those raccoons will not cuddle in the same way that your Enumclaw sheep does. Quote
knotzen Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I always wanted a Daniel Boone hat. Could you catch me one of them little ones? The cutest one of the bunch, please. Quote
TREETOAD Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 It's too bad that they have such sharp nails Quote
olyclimber Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 I'll get some pics. I'm sure they'll be back...it is not the first time they've showed up. They started showing up when we put the cat outside (to eat our cats food of course). Â When living out on the OlyPen, my dad got a contract to refence a section of road they were expanding. When cutting down a tree, he found a whole nest of the little buggers. The ma drug off all of them but one, which appeared to be the runt (as about the size of the one above), so my dad brought it home. We raised it up in our chicken coop. It was cute and cuddly at first, but eventually it grew up and had nasty claws, stunk to high heaven, and developed a nasty disposition. Finally, we took to leaving the chicken coop door open...he would wander off and come back for a few weeks....and finally he never came back. I'm pretty sure he had something to do with the raccoon raids staged against our house a few years later. Quote
catbirdseat Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Where's The Rooster? I'll bet he wouldn't have anything good to say about raccoons. Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I am happy to offer my sure shot raccoon-rid-rifle skills here. Quote
TREETOAD Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Don't let their cute looks fool you, those rasty little bastards are responsible for the deaths of many of my Indian Runner ducks, They rip out the guts and brains and leave the bodies laying in the bushes, they even killed a momma duck on her nest as she fought to save her family. Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Don't let my cute looks fool you, I will shoot those fuckers dead. Quote

They seem to really enjoy killing things just for the sport of it. One killed all seven of my chickens without eating any of them. Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Funny, I wonder if they didn't taste just like chicken? Quote
olyclimber Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 I'm pretty sure they would taste like skunk, actually. Quote
TREETOAD Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Don't let my cute looks fool you, I will shoot those fuckers dead. I think I like you!! Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 No, I mean that they (the raccoons) didn't eat the chickens because they (the chickens) didn't taste just like chicken. Â you should not post right after one of my inane posts. Quote
archenemy Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Don't let my cute looks fool you, I will shoot those fuckers dead. I think I like you!! Â Right on. You can use up some of your vacation days and come visit this rainy shithole and bitch about not being able to climb b/c of the weather. On the bright side, PBR is on sale!!! Quote
