rat Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 has anyone been there recently and care to fess up some info on road access? thanks, will call canfor eventually. Quote
Dru Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Canfor pulled out on Feb 01, and no longer is responsible for the area. The road's in 2wd shape to the lake and then rapidly becomes impassible. Quote

Dru Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I was told its a few years away yet. Probably further away now that Canfor is gone. The tenure will probably be transferred to Chehalis Indian Band to settle land claims. Quote
layton Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Rolf, if you have a burly 4wd and a mtn bike you should be good (or just a mtn bike and some extra time). the trails completely gone past the road so bring a change of shoes cuz you gotta hike in the river for about a mile. Quote
crazyjizzy Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 How is the parking situation? Rolf isn't too good on figuring that out. Quote
layton Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 here's the parking lot, better lock your doors the drive: helpful road signs(follow the paper plates!!!!) sweet hiking sweet sweetin' sweet weather! sweet rappin' sweet climbin sweet protection! awesome mountains killer sunsets astral projecting all photos by necronomicon. note the how the camera changes the backpack and hairstyles. weird? jordop Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 This thread seems to have lost some valuable beta on meatons and hairstyles. Without it I doubt the approach would even go Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 For this I reccomend filling up your gas tank before departing the last sight of civilization. If you plan on exploring many of the loggin roads, bring an extra can. Just my 2 cents. Quote
JasonG Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Do you have to do some fun river hiking to get to the Statlu Lake TH (or can you still get there with an 4WD)?? Some of those pictures look mighty sucky!! Thanks! JG Quote
layton Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 no, you can drive to it as far as i remember (in a HC 4wd that is) Quote
gsilvest Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 If it helps you, we made it to the Statlu Lake TH in an unmodified 95 Pathfinder last year with no difficulty at all, assuming you know now to drive off road. Quote
Janez_Ales Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 My toyota tundra got up to the Statlu TH last year also. As Carla pointed out a fun ATV road... even more fun with a slightly bigger ATV All this said, I did walk into Nursery Pass once from the C. Lake Quote
Zoran Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Few years ago large group of BCMC and ACC members made it to the Nursery Pass trailhead parking spot. I couldn't believe my eyes when large Jeep in front of us (and our Toyota pick-up) just dissapear in waterbars. We made it there then ... Quote
Dru Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 13 yrs ago i drove to nursery pass parking in a 2wd Quote
