Stuart Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Don't know if this is the place for this post, or if it should be in the gear shop forum. I'm looking for a decent shop in the Ballard/Downtown Seattle area that sells a variety of powdered sports drinks. Especially fluid replacement drinks.(not ) Used to use SIS drinks but can't get them here, so help and advice needed. My taste buds aren't fussy, as long as it doesn't literally taste like crap. Cheers Stuart Quote
Stuart Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005 Is that seriously the best place? Oh christ...... Quote
Alpinfox Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I wouldn't really know since my "fluid replacement drink" is water (It's amazing how cheap the stuff is and how well it works!) However, if you want some foofoo techie shit, REI is a good place to check. Be sure to wear your spandex walking suit when you go; you'll be able to get through the aisles 0.04% faster. It might also be a good opportunity to try out that new heart monitor; lots of stairs at REI. Quote
specialed Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Maybe check that cycle shack place on the Burke Gilman near Fremont. Trader Ho's also stocks some sports drinks for cheap and good deals on energy bars too. But REI is probably your best bet. Quote
Figger_Eight Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah...Speedy Reedy in Fremont. There's also Gregg's Cycles up by Greenlake. Quote
Gerg Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 any cycling or running shop--Greggs, Super Jock n' Jill, Roadrunner sport are all within a block of each other on Greenlake; Performance Bicycle in Redmond, REI, SuperGo (45th and I-5, more or less) in the U District, etc. Quote
Rad Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Most of the (powerade, gatorade, your-favorite-ade) are available at the supermarket for less. Buy powder in bulk to save $ and be more enviro friendly. Quote
jon Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 SuperGo on 45th just east of I-5 probably has the best selection and best prices. Quote
StephenBecker Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 You might try gookinaid. It has very mild flavors in comparison to gatoraid. I used it for cross-country racing and now use it in low-concentrations for climbs. You can order online: http://www.gookinaid.com/ Quote
barjor Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Go to IKEA and get some "Nypon soppa" or "Blabars soppa" Tasty with lots of calories. Quote
Couloir Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Go to IKEA and get some "Nypon soppa" or "Blabars soppa" Tasty with lots of calories. I tend to like the BEKVÄM orange spiced UDDEN with the lemon spritz FÖRHÖJA on the side... Quote
