Hanger Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Pulling down the walls in slacks and dress shoes…yeah Bill, you da man! I expect a tux next time around Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Dress shoes? Now I'm really impressed. Quote
Hanger Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You'd have thought five.ten was testing out a new demographic Quote
billcoe Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Nah: We're talking Ecco dress shoes. They were looking fairly good till I jumped on the route. Starting a new trend with the dress shoes and folloing up on M. Layton climbing in Tevas. Probably just another fad that won't take off, nobody would want to pay $150 for a pair of floppy dress shoes for climbing. Thats the 2nd time I've forgot my climbing shoes. I formerly had the habit of leaving a pair in my car, and then the shoe resoler guy told me I'd trashed a pair (rubber got hard from the heat) mearly from leaving them in the car. So now I try and be responsible and take care of them an look what happens. DOH DOH. Quote
Thudman Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 OldHouseMan and I are looking to get out there around 6:00 Thursday. I haven't climbed at the Butte yet, so I was hoping some of the regulars would be out. Quote
billcoe Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Cool, we'll look for ya. Tuesday was Hanger and I. (my only critera is perfect belays ... mandatory) Regards: Bill Quote
John Frieh Posted August 25, 2005 Author Posted August 25, 2005 So finally PDX climb night takes off and I'm out of the state for 3 weeks Regardless: great job guys! The more the merrier! A few weeks with Bill and your perception of Rocky will greatly change! I hope this many people come to dry tool night once the weather changes for winter! Quote

NOLSE! long time, hope all is well and its the full schizzel up there for you. Looks like you can break out the tools and the raincoats this Sunday if the weatherman is correct! Quote
Hanger Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Hey Bill..how many peeps are going to be out this eve? Quote
billcoe Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I THINK its @ 7. Of course, your results could vary dramatically as you know. Sketchfest might want to go it alone with a partner down by Tigar Paws. Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 OK, who's up for some climbing at the Butte tonight? Quote
billcoe Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 They say Lake Oswego should be dry. Thoughts? Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, the L.O. railroad cut probably would be drier. I can be there by 6:00, I think. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 have they drained the lake or something? Imagine the piles of starbucks memorabilia. Where is this railroad cut exactly? Quote
billcoe Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 It is within sight of the lake. (PM'ed the directions to you) Dan I'll see you tonight, I should be there @ 5:30-5:45pm Quote

John Frieh Posted September 1, 2005 Author Posted September 1, 2005 Anyone? I can go any time. Call me as I will be offline: 541-231-2062 Quote
John Frieh Posted September 2, 2005 Author Posted September 2, 2005 I am posting this here as it seems most PDXers keep an eye on this thread... If you are interested in pooling to rope up shoot me a pm. Quote
Doug_Hutchinson Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 The activity on this thread recently appears to be less than inspirational. Anyone climbing at the Butt tomorrow (Thursday)? I need to up the time on the rock and will be ready to climb by 4:30 tomorrow. Quote
John Frieh Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 I'd be in but I'm leaving for Idaho tomorrow. Starting next week (12th of Sept) I will be grounded to PDX for awhile so I am game any night... dry tool, whatever. Shoot Bill Coe, Ivan, Ireneo Funes, or Castlecrag a pm. Quote
ivan Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 i'd be game but i'm getting sick i think and feeling downright shitty...until daylight savings ruins shit, i prefer climbing at beacon on weekday afternoons b/c i get out of school at 3 and it's just 20 minutes away (and far superior to the butte to boot)...i'm always looking for company! Quote
John Frieh Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 So it looks like the weather is going to be shit this weekend. Anybody interested in crusing up to the Elliot and TRing some ice on Sat (and/or Sunday) in the rain? I am away from my phone on and off today and Friday but if you leave me a message (541-231-2062) I can return your call before Friday evening and give you a meeting time/place for Sat (or Sunday). Holla! Quote

I need to up the time on the rock and will be ready to climb by 4:30 tomorrow. Hi Doug, I think that it's less than inspirational cause our spiritual leader and coach, the Bagwan Shree Nolse, is off doing some real climbing. I'd like to hook up but will be there @ 5:45-6pm if that works for you. Otherwise I'll just boulder. Let me know what you want to jump on. For anyone who cares, sounds like Ireneo and Mark will be no shows in addition to Ivan. I'm feeling all tired and achy too, but I think it's just age. Nolse - Can't rain this weekend - I'm climbing at Beacon:-) Quote
