Now I have two of these rags. Bought this one because of the Hunter article. The piece by Wharton on his and Kelly's ascent of Trango Tower is ridiculous. Without water for two whole days, meanwhile climbing 5.10+ mixed offwidth at 20,000 ft. Definitly an inspiring and lofty level of commitment and suffering.

Kennedy's piece on his FA of the Kennedy/Lowe (and then onto the FA of Infinite Spur on Foraker) in the 70's bookmarked with his FA of Wall of Shadows recently shows Kennedy is one of the few people who have made their livelihood from climbing that should be truly respected as a well-rounded individual. He ends his essay by stating that these utterly demanding and committing climbs provided immense personal insight including that climbing is not everything. How true.

For a man like me who does not have the wife's approval of spending money on this magazine (don't ask, too long of a story), where would one have the opportunity to read these Alpinist magazines?

I honestly cannot imagine a domestic, even a "political" domestic situation where you need another adults permission to buy a magazine.

Did you cheap out on the diamond? yellaf.gif
