iain Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Anyone from Skagit Mtn Rescue on here? Sketchy ebay deal on rescue gear going on, just wondering if any of it is yours that was stolen: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3688214631 Quote
dbb Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 There is lots of quality rope... would be a good addition to the right person! yeah, the right person if you're the incredable hulk. I always love going climbing with low-strech ropes and big steal carabiners with 20ft runners... really cuts down the ropedrag on those 600ft pitches. Seriously though, that totally looks like it's stolen. Quote
sobo Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 True, that sooooo looks to be stolen. Guy doesn't even know what a carabiner is called. Where is Doug? He's in Skagit MR. Quote
slothrop Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 What do you do if you suspect something sold on eBay is stolen, anyway? Do the police ever follow up on a case like this? Or is your best bet just to buy the thing for a huge price and then report the seller? Quote
SublimeSalamander Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 If that does belong Skagit MR they need to contact (360)-336-3146 and Initiate a report. That's the PH# for Skagit Co Sheriff Dept. They can get a hold of e-bay and get all the info on the seller. Quote
sobo Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 It's been over an hour and I haven't gotten a "read receipt" from Doug at Skagit MR. Does anyone on this board know someone in SMR that they can contact so those guys can check out teh e-Bay gear before it goes off auction? Quote
Lambone Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Guy doesn't even know what a carabiner is called. You mean they arn't called...lightweight metal snap lock connectors? WTF Quote
iain Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 I got a response from someone on the MRA lister who is in Skagit and he says it is not part of their cache that is missing. Thanks for trying. Maybe someone will recognize it. It could just be someone getting rid of junk out of the basement, who knows. Just seems strange. Quote
Lambone Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 did you look at his other items for sale....strange is an understatement! Quote
iain Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 How could you pass up the vintage tabletop Donkey Kong Jr. game? Quote
cj001f Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Stolen? When the Seller has feedback like this: "Fraudulent 3rd party auction; said motorcycle drives; it doesn't." Say it ain't so! Quote
sobo Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Yah, and he's had 3 usernames in less than 5 years. Who's he hiding from??? Quote
